We stayed in three different hotels in Panama, and Manglar Lodge was absolutely my favourite far and away. We were really unsure what we were getting into going to El Palmar - we just wanted to get to a beach and go surfing, and choosing a place to stay where there are only a few accommodations can be sketchy. But...

Thanks you for taking the time and writing a review of our place. we are glad that you enjoy our place and that my tip of visiting the Laguna de San carlos was the highlight of the trip. That is one of my favourite spots around here. I enjoy giving tips and information to our guest so they can have...

This is a quaint place! Only 4 rooms and a restaurant. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Good food and guard cats on the stairs. A better view of the ocean would be nice, but Ivan shares his knowledge of the beach. I caught some great waves - body surfing- today. There was a class of surf boarders there on the beach...

Located at the end of a one-lane road, Manglar Lodge is a quiet place with comfortable, clean, modern rooms and very helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay here but were disappointed with the beach and its rocky shore that is geared more for surfers.

Off of the beaten path, beautiful modern intimate rooms, and friendly staff all adds up to a terrific couples or family getaway place... Meals at the intimate small hotel were very good, and the amenities were impeccable.... Also, walk across the street to eat on the water...... the beaches there are more for surfers instead of going walking etc... Manglar...

Ivan, the manager, was happy to inform us about surfing and anything else. He is obviously there (lives there!) because he loves that beach. The beach is an interesting place with a huge and fascinating difference between high and low tides. The Manglar Lodge has a great and cozy bar area and a homey atmosphere. Ivan is helpful in either...

Thank goodness for Ivan and the Manglar Lodge. After booking at another resort in the area and receiving a less-than-welcoming reception, we fled to the Manglar Lodge. Ivan and his staff were so accommodating and helpful! The rooms are large with big bathrooms, really comfortable bedding and beautiful decor. The entire facility is decorating with photographs from throughout Panama taken...

xcellent place for accommodation, I decided to stay at this hotel for the real good reviews of this place, and my experience was excellent, very comfortable, clean beds, the room super clean and with photographs of the typical costume of Panamanian women THE POLLERAS, excellent service, most staff speak English, have a small restaurant where everything they serve is great,...

Room was not clean. Door to balcony was cracked in several places and you could see the outdoors from indoors through it! Management was nonexistent and the view was of another hotel. We only stayed 1 of the 2 nights reserved and took the loss. That is how unhappy we were with this establishment.

My wife and I decided to spend a few days in Panama after completing an 8-day birding trip in another part of the country. We found this lodge on TripAdvisor with good reviews, and reasonable prices, and decided to stay here. Their website gives clear directions to the lodge. Make sure you follow them carefully. There are only 4 rooms...

Manglar was our introduction to Panama. After renting a car in PC we drove the 2~ hours out to San Carlos. As others mentioned, it is easy to drive past the street that leads to the lodge--we did, but realized it fairly quickly, and with a good guess we ended up on the right road that wound down towards the...
