We were looking forward to our stay at this B&B in the Dordogne and the prices were reasonable (70 Euros a night, which in high season is a very fair rate), but we left after three days of a five day booking. The situation of the B&B (which is a working farm) is quite good, if somewhat too far to the east of where most of the action is in the Dordogne, but the amenities were unpleasant. We were four -- two adults and two kids -- and the room was extremely small: three down in a double bed and single bed, and another bed crammed into a loft space up an extremely steep ladder. There were four plastic coat hangers on a tiny rod in the corner, and two small shelves: suffice it to say we lived out of the open suitcase in the only available floorspace.

The bathroom was a horror: plastic fixtures, an incredibly tiny shower where it was impossible to avoid being caressed intimately by the vile, mouldy shower curtain. When we ran out of toilet paper, we had to go hunting for...
