The pension is located in the hilly fields of Biei and a transport was provided from the Biei JR station. Once at the pension, the owner kindly showed us around the place and explained the facilities. Dinner and breakfast was very good and also very healthy home-cooked food. The next morning, we decided to go snow-shoeing around the fields and the hosts were so gracious in acceding to our activity request. Only comment would be that the rooms were a bit cold at night but a heater was provided nonetheless. A great stay overall! More

My friend and I stayed at Hoshi No Anne for 1 night in July 2015. By the time our trip was confirmed, it was pretty late and most of the pensions were full. It was pretty hard as a foreigner to book a local pension there since most of them required that you fax them the request in Japanese. We checked into a Japanese style room downstairs - simple and big - came completed with tatami flooring and super soft blankets. The 2 share bathrooms had bath tubs and showers like any other Japanese houses. The bigger...

“Try to get the rooms upstairs which have a better view of the field. Rooms downstairs only see the house next door.”
