Best host ever! They take care of us like a family member. I visited hakuba on 4 Dec 2016. Host welcome us with a homemade cake :) Then bring us to a sushi restaurant a little bit far from hotel. In second day. Because there is no snow at all, they afraid that we will have nothing to do. Mr.Kuni...

Mrs Takato and her husband are wonderful hosts. Rooms are spacious and confortable. If Mrs Takato offers to cook you dinner or breakfast, say yes to both: she is an excellent cook (she grows her own vegetables) and will explain you everything about Japanese cuisine & customs. The ryokan is Mrs Takato's family house, souvenirs pictures, kimonos, calligraphy tools are...

Takako san and her husband's hospitality and culinary skills are truly amazing. My friend and I had such a wonderful time staying in this lovely traditional Japanese house despite no snow during our time of visit (October 2015). The room is so comfy and decors around the house are all very interesting. There was even natural onsen there!!! I look...

I have never left a review on TripAdvisor before but after my stay at this inn, I felt compelled to share my experience. The personalised service is just as good as the previous reviews say - the owner went out of her way to drive us wherever we needed to go. This was a great help because shuttle buses had...

We stayed here for 8 nights in March, 2016. Two kids (10 and 8) and all of us in one big room. Plenty of space, comfortable beds on floor, warm, very clean and safe. The onsen was a real treat as well as a cultural experience. We much preferred the Japanese breakfast (skip the Western) and dinner was amazing. Occasional...

We had an absolute blast staying at Hakiba Ski-Kan. The owners are the nicest people, and were so welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with a mixture of traditional Japanese flavour and comfortable facilities. Everything you need for an enjoyable time on the mountain is here ready for you. The breakfast was stunning; we are both vegetarian...

We stayed a week here when skiing in February 2016. The owners go out of their way to help - we forgot our ski poles at the slope and they took us by car to go search, the supermarket was too far a walk with 2 young children so they took us by car, and of course our young kids...

My wife and I stayed here for several nights and really enjoyed the spirit and hospitality. The traditional Japanese rooms were comfortable and an onsite onsen was a plus. Shared separate bathrooms were a perfectly fine. The entire place is spotless, super well maintained reflecting the owners pride in their property. And as others have said the level of hospitality...
