Joe, Saki and the staff at high Mount Hotel make this a must stay place in Hakuba. There is nothing Joe will not do for you, taking you to slopes, picking you up in the evening, recommending restaurants. making sure the onsen is in tip top condition for after our fun packed day on the slopes. They genuinely care about...

When it comes to hotels you often get what you pay for, but what you get here is incredible service at no extra cost. The owner fixed my snowboard after an accident, and wouldn't take payment when I offered. Seems to be a family run place, and you get the impression they genuinely care about the guests and want them...

Joe and his staff cater exceptionally to English speakers and the hotel has a friendly atmosphere. The bus service to the ski lifts at Sakka is there when you are ready in the morning and with the onsen this is our first choice of accommodation in Wadano.

I've now visited Hakuba 3 times and each time stayed with Joe and his friendly staff at the High Mount Hotel. The main reason for returning is they treat their guests like family - only better. I received 'welcome back' hugs when I returned which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is located at the top of the hill in...

Great people run by Joe and his family. Staff great and very friendly and helpful. Huge Euro breakfast included buffet style. Meals available at night very reasonable. Onsen (Hot pool) really great after a day skiing. Location not ideal but free shuttles to the ski fields and night bus schedule available to the main eating and drinking areas of Happo....

It's not the Hyatt but everything else is 5 star. This family run hotel is a gem. The shuttles that take you to the slopes stop right at your door. It means you always get a seat which helps when you are carrying skis! There is also a free hotel guest shuttle that will drop you at restaurants in the...

This hotel is a gem. Our family ski experience was a massive success thanks to the staff at the High Mount and the way that you are made to feel part of the family. Our arrival was late at night and we were provided everything we needed to get settled in, and in the morning we were given all the...
