Lovely hospitality from staff, cozy lounge/bar and bedrooms. Nice breakfast in the mornings with fresh fruit. James makes a rather good flat white for getting you going too! Great location by/near bus routes to resorts. And, for those tough days...the onsen.

Stayed for a week in February 2016 with our 9 year old. Steven, Sarasa and staff provide an amazing experience. Understated service throughout our whole stay. From early morning to late at night there was always someone from the Lodge ready to assist. From Steven or one of the other staff to drive us to the snow each day, man... More

Stayed at Snowlines Lodge last week. What a cosy, welcoming place! Steven, Sarasa, James & Koshi (even baby Joe) were so incredibly welcoming and helpful. It really felt like we had been welcomed into their home. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they all obviously took such pride in their facilities. The facilities are impeccable, from the gorgeous... More

For our first time in Hakuba, we were lucky to select Snowlines Lodge. Steven and Sarasa are superb hosts with an impeccable sense of service, great advice on local skiing and places. The organization of ski rental and lessons for our beginner kids was very efficient and helped them get hooked to skiing right away ! Unfortunately snow was getting... More

Stayed for a week in March 2016 - worst snow in memory (for Japan) but the Snowlines experience will definitely have us back. Great lodge - very comfortable, nice big rooms and lots of living/relaxing space. Steve, Sarasa, James and Koshi are fantastic - very knowledgeable and will go out of their way to make sure you get the best... More

Thanks Steve and Sarasa for a sensational introduction to Japan. Your lodge was exactly what we needed and we really appreciated all the extra assistance you gave us during our stay. You are both so welcoming and we will definitely be returning!

Our expectations were set pretty high given the previous reviews but it's true - Snowlines Lodge is fantastic. Location is great, the rooms comfortable, all facilities, the bar/lounge area cosy and hospitable. The house guests were welcoming and friendly - overall a great atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for Steve & James ( and the other lodge staff )... More

Recently stayed at Snowlines lodge for 6nights in February 2016. This place really is the home away from home!!! The hospitality shown by Steve and sarasa is by far the best around. Facilities are clean, warm and inviting...not to mention an awesome bar for a chat at the end of a days skiing/snowboarding!!!

I recently stayed at snowlines for the first time. The service and attention to detail that Steven, Sarasa and their staff offer is first rate. I have made many trips to Japan ski towns before and have never experienced a better staff than those at Snowlines. The owners were great, and it seems like the staff were very well schooled... Stephen, sarasa and all the team provided excellent service and could not do enough for you. They had great knowledge of the ski areas and the conditions to best plan where to ski. The lodge provided transport in the morning to local lifts and extensive details of buses to other resorts in the valley. The evening meals (optional extra) were... More
