We only stayed one night as we ended up needing an extra night in Nozawa and our previous accommodation (residence Yasushi) was fully booked. (And AMAZING) Address is nice, it’s spacious and in a great spot! It’s kind of soulless in my opinion and probably works better for larger groups, rather than a family of four.
Fantastic spot in nozawa! We travelled as a group of four mates and stayed in the large suite behind reception. The room was massive by Japanese standards with plenty of room to spread out and store luggage. Good wifi. Great kitchen set up. Onsen is traditional and refreshing. Location is in the heart of nozawa with the bus stop a short 100m walk and genkj burger just next door. Bit if a walk to lifts but no big deal. Would def stay here again
The Japanese style room was great! It had a nice big shower, comfy futons, and plenty of tasty breakfast food was provided. It was also conveniently located near the various bus stops and the convince store. But the standout was definitely the excellent service. The reception staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us find things to do and navigate the public transport out of town. I would love to stay there again!
And, did I mention they actually do speak English? Nozawa is small, there are not that many restaurants/cafes that you can pick and choose, and they are all rather touristy. On the other hand, Nagano pref. has got one of the best vegetables and fruits Japan can produce. So, why not just pick up some great stuff from the local market (the hotel can guide you) and make some hot spring eggs and call it the best Nozawa dinner you can have? Furthermore, there are 13 hot spring baths you can go in Nozawa, but those are shared by the locals so that you feel sometimes a little awkward. Don't you want to just enjoy the luxury and relaxation of soaking in hot water after a long day without worrying about whether you are disturbing anyone? There you go--head downstairs for the hotel's own hot spring. So, where else do you want to stay?…
Right in the heart of the village so easy for restaurants, groceries and onsen. This self catering apartment had a smart little kitchen area with tasty breakfast supplies are included. Very comfortable bedding and seating areas, and a free guest laundry making it extra convenient. The on-site onsen is a little small but was never busy - but mostly we tried the local onsen or Sparena. A short walk up hill to get to the Nagasaki lift area was an easy warm up before hitting the slopes each day. We’ve stayed here on two different trips to Nozawa and would go definitely go back again.
We stayed here as a father/son ski trip. This was perfect for that. The room had no view and wasn’t really all that Japanese, but it was spacious and had all the amenities for the kind of ski trip we were on. We actually took one night and stayed and a traditionalist Ryokan - but found ourselves wanting to head back to Address because of the spacious room and regular chairs. Also for a father(son the Ryokans are pretty romantic and that was lost on us. The location cannot be beat... right in the middle of everything. I recommend it highly.
We loved our time here, very well placed - you are within minutes of great places to eat and easy walking distance to get to the slopes. Our room was relatively spacious - small kitchen and bathroom - but spacious lounge, dining and bedroom. Extremely helpful staff; maybe not the best views in the world but a great location.
We enjoyed our stay here, perfect for families as there is self serve laundry facilities and a small kitchenette with everything you need provided in the kitchenette. They supply nespresso capsules (1 box) and basic stuff like eggs, bread, milk, OJ, butter, very nice jam and a whole bunch of apples every three days, more than enough for us as there are tonnes of cafes in town and on the slopes. We stayed in an executive studio which was large and the kids loved the Apple TV and Netflix after skiing in the day. Right round the corner is Haus St Anton cafe which is great for a coffee and a nice cinnamon roll and next to Address Nozawa itself is Genki Burger - very good burgers and open slightly later. Kaori San was great at helping us with local reservations and directions. Only slight downside is that the hotel onsen itself is not new but as you are in a town with so many real onsens outside this is not an issue at all. O-Yu onsen is just a short 2 min walk away and the long escalator to the Hikage Slopes are about 10 min walk up the town. It could be shorter but we kept getting diverted with all the snacks/shops along the way. No hesitation returning to Address Nozawa as it hit the spot for the entire family. Also - hotel provides a small onsen bag/kit for each guest, nice touch! …
Stayed for 6 nights in March and found Address Nozawa to be perfect for us. Stayed in the studio suite which is plenty big enough for 2 people. The studio had two large rooms, one with kitchen and dining area, the other with the beds and bathroom. Beds are very comfortable, rooms are well heated, and bathrooms are a bit on the small size but was completely fine for us. The breakfast foods (eggs, bread, milk, juice, nespresso pods etc) are provided and are delicious before a big days skiing. The location is ideal. Easy walk (uphill) to the Nagasaki Gondola, and 1 min walk onto the Main Street in the village. Loads of restaurants and onsens nearby. There is also a onsen in the basement of Address Nozawa which is nice and quiet and usually empty if you do not want to brave the other public onsens! There is also a small laundry with free washing machines and dryers in the basement. Would definitely recommend Address Nozawa!…
Spent a week at Address Nozawa in a standard studio. It was perfect for two people with heaps of space for hanging clothes and storing suitcases. Breakfast foods were supplied and the kitchen was perfect for making coffee and eggs on toast before heading to the ski fields for the day. The room was serviced every three days with the breakfast goods topped up then as well. Location is great. Just off the main street with heaps of dinner options nearby. A bit of a hike up hill to get to the Nagasaka Gondola but we stored our skis and boots at the the rental place at the base of the gondola so thankfully didn't have to worry about walking up the hill in ski boots. The only downside was the capsule bathroom which was tiny. It also had a window looking into the bedroom which was a little weird (though there was a blind which could be closed). Address Nozawa gave each guest a bag of toiletries to use when going to the onsen. We tried the one in the basement a couple of times but found it too hot. Several public onsens were close by but we didn't try them.…
