The two owners of this property were delightful. They treated us like family members, cooked delicious food for us and generally made the experience very special. We are travelling in Japan for seven weeks and staying in a variety of three, four and five star ryokans, hotels and guest houses. Staying at More no Gorilla has been one of the best experiences mainly because of the owners. The room with twin beds was small but comfortable, there was lovely music playing in the background, the food was delicious and it was good value.

We stayed for 3 nights with Gori-san and Noriko-san and had a wonderful time exploring the variety of ski fields in the region and taking in the excellent service and ambiance of the beautiful quaint pension. The meals provided were exceptional and each breakfast and dinner was different and more delicious each time - it was honestly a great culinary experience! Our hosts took us to a local bonfire event in town and even with our limited Japanese and their limited English we felt at home and very welcome in their place. Gori-san offered his services as a snow shoe guide and the scenery during the walk was truly stunning. We highly recommend staying here and will defining be coming back soon!
