From the moment we arrived at the front door we felt so welcome and well treated, excellent service. This ryokan is comfortable, well fitted out and the food was an other world experience for us. Well located near the station I highly recommend a stay at Noren Yado Meigetsu. Beautiful!

We stayed for 2 nights, and enjoyed it very much. Our room overlooked a pretty little japanese garden, and was very relaxing. The food was delicious and plentiful. The bathing area was reserved for us to use as a couple, which was a nice touch, and unlike other ryokans that we have stayed in previously, where the male and females... More

I chose this ryokan because of the tripadvisor reviews , especially the ones stressing food. With really limited Japanese language ability, getting the meals we wanted was something of a problem. As we got off the train, a fellow passenger said "Meigetsu?" (there was a complete sentence, but that was the word I understood). When we arrived at the ryokan... More

I started completely skeptical of this ryokan, and after a three hour train-ride through the mountains and a walk to a nondescript house, I was even more so. But after arriving we were transported into this beautifully magical world that epitomized what is so special about Japan. Our hosts, who spoke no English, made such a kind effort to give... More

Yes..on our 35 day tour of Japan and staying in 8 ryokans, this would rate as one of the best considering how cheap it was compared to some others. The ladies who run this place were awesome..very minimal English but it did not matter at all, I remember reading one of the reviews saying they had a half hour conversation with... We have spent 2 nights in this family place. We had a room with a private bath and a view on a small garden. Just wonderful people willing to help and making their best for you. Excellent dinners and breakfasts. Very clean. Even if meals are not served in the room as usual in ryocans, we have found here a... More

Excellent service as well as value for the money. We had booked 8 nights at Meigetsu Ryokan,a family-run traditional inn but the proprietress suggested we cancel one night and stay in Matsue (3 hour drive from Tsuwano) so we could see the Adachi Garden and other sights in Matsue. This was a generous tip from her. The trip to Matsue... More

My stay in this ryokan was the most enjoyable experience I've had in Japan! The ryokan is in a wonderful building (about 100 years old) and I was told it is a great example of Japanese architecture (I certainly liked it!). The hotel is managed by an absolutely adorable lady and her lovely daughter who made me feel completely at... More

Stayed for two nights in May 2013 with my wife. The tatami-style rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is attentive but not overbearing, and the location is a convenient short walk from the train station and from the main tourist attractions of the town. It is on a side street with minimal traffic, and there was essentially no noise... More

A bit far from JR station, 10-15 minutes walking distance. Beautiful Ryokan both exterior and interior. Room is enough for 2 persons with luggage. I highly recommend half-board (dinner and breakfast). Dinner serve as traditional Japanese cuisine, Kiseki. Every portions are great, simple but really delicious. Service is also excellent. Impressed Ryokan.
