We went in August for a week. Based on the reviews of Trip Advisor none of us were sure what to expect. There were 13 of us in total ranging in age from 8 months to mid-sixties. We utilized 3 cabins and all three had different layouts and sizes. Not all of the cabins have ovens. Two out of the three had stove tops and one had an oven. So keep in mind to check what you are getting so you can plan your meals. Also not all cabins have tvs or bath tubs. One out of the three cabins had a tv and all three cabins had showers not bath tubs. In each cabin you are equipped with dishes, pots, pans, utensils etc. However the previous people in our cabin didn't wash the dishes very well. So I had to rewash them before they could be used. Keep in mind your rate is for a double occupancy anything over is a charge of $10 per person. The pluses of the resort are a variety of well shaded areas throughout the day, the beach a few steps from the cabin, a fire pit, a play structure for the kids located in the centre of the resort, outside ping pong table and a few other outside games as well, water toys aka kayaks and a paddle boat, a water trampoline that was starting to rip as noted when we first arrived and was taken out of the water two days before we left as the netting had completely ripped, docks to jump off, life jackets should you need them, chairs on the beach wall so you can watch the beach and enjoy the amazing view, a washer and dryer 2 Loonies per wash and $2 for drying (note when we first arrived the sign said $2 for the entire week of drying then it was changed to $2 per load), and of course close proximity to many fun activities. Now not sure if the resort sprays for bugs or what but there definitely weren't many. I only killed one spider in my cabin. The moths, mosquitoes and aphids were limited. There were a ton of dragonflies so that may have helped as well. The water pressure was great and the hot water was hot not warm or anything like that. Some of the cons is that the cabins are older in appearance. There is paint peeling, wood rot on the porch, stairs, and siding. Has the resort been upgraded? No. Are the cabins dated looking? Yes. Are they functional? Yes. The shower is quite small but it works. I wish that the shower head came off as it would make washing children much easier. There is also no AC. There was one fan in the cabin but it didn't move any air. I had brought two fans and a sister went and purchased some. I highly recommend trying to get a cabin that is on the west side. I believe those are the low numbers 1-2-3 etc. You'll have the morning sun but by the time the sun is high in the sky you'll be in the shade. If you happen to be on the east side you'll get blasted by the sun especially if you are the first cabins, I believe number 10-12-15. There are bbqs that are shared between the two connected cabins. One of the burners was out in our bbq so it made for uneven and longer cooking. Keep that in mind when planning your meals. We were at the resort for a week. We planned beach days and day activities off the resort. The only time we were in the cabin was first thing in the morning getting breakfast and then bedtime. This resort is fine if you're able to be out and about. I wouldn't want to be in the cabin all day. I wish there was a second paddle boat and a canoe would have been nice. This resort was good in the sense that it was able to accommodate the 13 of us. It was easy to access day trips throughout the area. Would we go back? Hard to say. Why go to a place that is good when there could be something great. That being said I'm not ruling it out. The pluses of the park and beach being right there worked well for our young families. The owners were friendly. They checked in with us. They provided suggestions of places to go that were close by. This was an enjoyable holiday.

We left Kelowna with no idea where we were heading next, except it had to be by water. We finally saw a sign advertising White Sands resort and drove in to have a look. - Don't be fooled by a sign saying "Maple lodge" that is a B&B in front of white sands as you leave the road. You drive through this property and then into white sands resort. True to it's name, it has a lovely white sand beach, right on the shores of lake Shuswap. The couple that run the place are great hosts, as is their son who owns a great grogery/general store on the highway where you turn off to the resort. Our cabin was right on the beach almost, very clean & tidy. Two bedrooms, bathroom & kitchen with T.V. and free WI-FI. The lake has an incredible range of rise & fall, thus the jetties & wharves are very cleverly designed. Free BBQ on which we cooked some great Canadian Angus steaks bought at the grocery mentioned above.

Well established, we stumbled on this resort. The cabins are certainly not new but reasonably maintained. Everything worked. Our half cabin was right on the shore.... Only one other cabin occupied on the other side of the property thus quiet but may not be in summer! Nevertheless, it was lovely, on the shore, a peaceful warm evening, we had a short but pleasant walk You can tell... This is a place where families come year after year... Its certainly not fancy, its not a large resort but has enough for a young family needs and for their summertime at the lake. We enjoyed it.

I stayed with my kids at white sands resort for 2 weeks this summer. We had an absolute blast! We kept busy with fun water activities and many other activities found in the area. Mountain biking, hiking trails, waterfalls, ping pong, water parks, built sand castles and much more! The cabins are cute and very cozy. The beds were comfy with great pillows and they literally had everything you need in each cabin! I could cook everyday and all that I needed was right there in the kitchen or a bbq right outside the cabin! So handy!
It was such a wonderful experience getting to know the people who have stayed in this resort every summer for years. Making new memories with other kids. They had hand sanitizer at every cabin and shared area and there was cleaners and workers regularly making sure it was all up kept for everyone. The new owners are doing a great job of making you feel comfortable and well cared for. Thanks for the best end to our summer! I can’t wait to visit this winter when we go snowboarding and snowmobiling!

Paid for cottage for the 1st of January only to arrive on the 15 of January and a person was living there, my stuff was in another room.
That person was sitting at the table with cigarettes ( butts) and rerolling new smokes with.
The place smelled, they took 10 minutes to clean.
Not a great job, had to re clean with bleach. Covid .
Not cool, never compensated for. Not cool.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly especially Currie the groundskeeper. Fantastic selection of boats and fun activities for kids. Great location. We forgot some things in the closet which were promptly returned to us once we got home.

We were very excited to come to this resort from having spent 3 nights for our anniversary at another dog friendly resort in Peachland that was also waterfront. Almost upon arrival, we were given the low down on how pet friendly they weren't. If we wanted to be outside with our dog it had to be off their property, through a gate (which locked me out at one point!), and only on the boat launch. We were then treated to their page long explanation of rules of pet owners (see attached). We also soon discovered that there was no air conditioning. My husband told the owner, Betty that considering the heat we were experiencing, we were paying a lot for something that should be included and standard in the area. She did concede to allowing us to have a dog tied up beside us on the resort.

They do have a nice selection of water activities and I made complete use of the paddle board for a large part of the evening. Betty came at one point and asked if it could be returned, and I asked her if I could use it a bit longer to which she replied, "Well I guess so. You are paying a lot of money to stay here!" Didn't really appreciate the sarcasm!

I could get into how I didn't sleep well in the much needing renovations suite, or that there were a mass of spiders on the cover of the deck, but I will digress. Suffice it to say that it is doubtful I will return when there are much more pet friendly, air conditioned, better maintained properties in and around this area.

We just came home from our week at White Sands Resort and had a wonderful time. Nice clean cabins, great park, and nice beach! Very pet friendly! Easy pet rules to follow that are fair to pets, pet owners, and other resort guests. Fantastic resort to come with the whole family!
