My husband and I popped into the Traquair Arms Hotel for soup and sandwich before embarking on a long walk. Lovely warm dining room with wood burner. Warm welcome and carrot and ginger and orange soup for me with sweet potato and chilllie for him. Delicious soup and the best part was that it was not too salty which is... More

Stayed here for a 2 day break Nov 1st & 2nd through Living Social. Staff are lovely really nice and friendly. Our bedroom was ready for a facelift though. We were allocated a 3 bed room, the size of the room was ok but night stand only on 1 side of the double bed, furniture was open wardrobe and 3... More

I've stayed here for the last few years in the autumn on a full board basis when fishing the Tweed. The staff are friendly and helpful, that said there are the odd Fawlty Towers moments. The Good - breakfast is good, evening meals are for the most part good, although the quality can vary from sublime to below par and... More

Stayed here for a long weekend in August as part of a groupon deal. Situated in nice little town close to amazing scenery. Hotel itself had reasonably good parking though bit of a squeeze getting out. Room was spacious with large bed, good storage space with shower. Spent second night having dinner at hotel and although booked for restaurant decided... More

Stayed here again for a week recently. Staff were really good, particularly Rebecca at breakfast and Jamie and Amy in the evenings. Rooms are adequate but a little tired, they could do with a steady programme of room refurbishment. The breakfast was superb, the evening meals were somewhat variable. The soups are always good value and well prepared. The restaurant... More

This hotel is a quaint place full of charm. Blends in perfectly with the rolling green hills and crisp streams of the Borders. It is an ideal place to get away and recover from the 'over stimulation' that can be city life. The staff were amazing, all our interaction with them was so warm and so lovely we really felt... Lovely hotel, very warm and plenty of hot water. The staff were lovely and friendly. Very welcoming. We even got a lift to Edinburgh from the owner Dave, a real character. Amy and Jamie were also extremely friendly. Great food in the restaurant and an amazing selection of malt whiskies in the bar. Will definitely be going back. Great jib... More

Absolutely brilliant, loved it, welcoming and friendly staff, excellent food, lovely, comfortable and warm room. All the staff, particularly Amy was very helpful and knowledgeable on their wide selection of malt whiskies. Jamie and Dave welcomed us when we arrived and gave us lots of helpful information, we will definitely return and we highly recommend this hotel.

Just back from a couple of days here. Bought through Groupon which was great value for money, plus it's a dog friendly hotel. Great location, plenty of places to walk our spotty dog, lovely towns and villages close by with lots of independent traders - nice change from Costa, etc. Large room (room 10) with en-suite which was more than... We booked two nights for my birthday and we were pleased. we had to wait a few mins when we arrived as the girl was serving at the bar, but she did come out to meet us and tell us. The room was at the top of the hotel, no lift, which suited us as you don't get passing traffic.... More
