We got 2 rooms for our family of 5. It was so nice and so much fun to stay the night in a real castle! The bathrooms are totally modern, beautiful and extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable. We got a bottle of wine and sat in the courtyard and looked out over the valley. This was one of...

On our recent trip to Bavaria, this hotel was a real highlight! Imagine seeing an ancient castle up close and personal. Our room was modernized and comfortable, but most of the castle we were free to explore still had plenty of its original 13th century history. By dinnertime, it had become the proverbial dark & stormy night, but the staff...

We decided to take a break from the cities, towns and museums and booked 2 rooms in Burg Colmberg for 1 night and it has been a highlight of our trip. Less than an hour from Nurnberg by train (to Ansbach) and cab. We arrived early but the rooms were ready and checkin was smooth. The rooms were very cosy...

I was nervous about booking this place because it was quite pricey and we weren't sure if it would live up to our expectations... it ended up being worth every dollar! We didn't rent a vehicle so we caught the train into Ansbach and from there caught a cab to take us into Colmberg. It ended up costing about 35...

I'd highly recommend staying here! What a lovely castle hotel. Beautiful tower, and setting. Great view. Out of the way, but still close to some restaurants and shops in town. My wife loves visiting castles, so she was thrilled to stay in one! The setting in the halls was great - such a nice touch in a castle hotel. Breakfast...

Stayed here recently. Beautiful view. Nice room. Excellent food. Parking challenging t=but okay. Had to leave early one day due to wife's work schedule changing. They are totally inflexible and charged us 70% for day we left early even though we advised them we had to leave early the night before.

Going to Rothenburg before Christmas was a short notice idea but finding this Hotel was better than the whole awesome village of Rothenburg. 26 rooms most lovely in a real castle. Not Disney but real - started in 1150... staying in a magical room with fluffy blankets and the most attentive staff I have seen in years. Ignore five star...

What a great visit! The castle was as authentic and the staff was friendly. The room was cozy and comfortable and the food was tasty. Easy to get to. Parking can be tricky and the wifi was free, but a little slow. Breakfast was included and was continentally fantastic. A great bargain that left us wanting to return again.

This was to be one of the highlights of our trip - chance to stay in a real castle. It isn't cheap, so was a major treat. The building itself is set high on a hill and in lovely surrounds (albeit in very cold foggy conditions). It was nicely decorated for Christmas and lovely and warm. But the experience was...
