My wife and I spent two nights at the Riverside lodge.
For the highlights-cruising down the river with our guide was a fantastic experience ! Our guide Sam was very enthusiastic, a fantastic spotter with a good sense of humour. We saw several wild orangutan,...More
Yes the wildlife by the river is great but the accommodation is basic. Simple rooms with ceiling fan, poor lighting and basic shower room, with a long walk to the restaurant.
The omelette station at breakfast was good, otherwise limited choice and the hot dishes...More
We stayed as a couple for one night as part of our Borneo trip. Having stayed at the Abai lodge for the two previous nights we were aware of the standards being offered so far off the beaten track and this lodge didn't appoint. This...More
We stayed here after two nights at the Abai Jungle Lodge, just for one night. They have wifi which is great.

To be honest there is not a huge choice of food full stop although what you get is good. I am a pescatarian and I was asked to make sure to let them know well in advance. Starter is normally a vege soup, pudding was fruit but the mail was normally lots of rice and noodles, veg and 2 mains were were normally meat based and fish based, lunch was the same and breakfast I had vege omelette. They and you are on a river so obviously fish is easiest to get followed by chicken. To be honest when I go to far flung places I invariably take fruit and nut bars anyway. My husband who can struggle on holiday never had a bad tummy the whole time we were in Borneo which shows the food is fresh and cooked well - hope this helps.
