We ended up here after being bounced from Twin Rivers. Central Park Motor inn is just a standard motel room , There is nothing to complain about but there is nothing to make it stand out. Even small things like hooks for clothes in the bathroom would help. We had been planning to have dinner at the restaurant on one...

This was only a one night stay on our way to New Plymouth and it was handy to the start of the Forgotten World Rail Trail, the rooms and bed were clean and comfortable, we had a great dinner in the their restaurant, and an early breakfast

Had family unit that was on the main road. Road noise+++, squeaky floor boards+++,wallpaper peeling off in every room! unfinished gib board and electrical wiring with multiple multiplugs that wouldn't get a code of compliance and no smoke alarms. Advertised restaurant no longer open over the weekend. All and all very tired. Clean but way overpriced for $230/night.

This is a reasonably dated Motel but the rooms are clean. As the other reviews say the lower level drive way needs to be re-paved. No complaint with the bathroom – nice and spacious with a spa bath – shower has good pressure. Bed seemed a little uncomfortable at the start but in saying that I had a good night’s...

This is quite an old motel and the decor is very dated, but it was clean and quiet. It has a bar and restaurant attached. Don't expect fine dining cuisine but the food was good home cooked fare. Very casual check in procedure and we thought the owners could be a little friendlier and more engaging but they were busy....

We found ourselves stranded in Taumaranui due to road closures and in need of a place to spend the night. Easily found off the main road we pulled into Central Park Motor Inn. Which is about the only positive thing to say. The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable and the bedding whilst clean was very dated and the bedcover was the...

The rooms are ok but very expensive for what they are. One little fan heater struggles to heat a room in Taumarunui in winter. Kiwi host course wouldn't go a miss. Restaurant is once again expensive for what it is, rubbery dry chicken. No asking did we want dessert or a coffee

OMG where do I start, we walked into the foyer to the overwhelming smell of old deep fried fat, wafting from the restaurant. The receptionist was pleasant and booked us in as she taped up her shoe with Sellotape. She mentioned that the units we were in were yet to be updated and were close to the road. We booked...

Really happy to recommend this Motor Inn, we were after a quiet motel with a Spa Bath after a family trip over the Tongariro crossing. We were pleased to find this motel and would stay again. It would be a good base for trips to National Park in all seasons as the mountains are not far away (45mins to Tongariro...
