Lovely old inn. Great food, great staff, great value. Ideal lunch venue, try the sharing platter followed by Moules, what a wonderful lunch. Will try supper soon. Didn't stay overnight so unable to comment on room quality.

Spent a very enjoyable couple of hours at the Castle Inn for Sunday Lunch, nice table, and very good fresh menu, with roast beef as the Sunday Roast. Small but varied menu, nice table tucked away, but still in the main room, so we could people watch and enjoy our lunch. It does get busy, and would suggest you book...

Family of 5 for a birthday lunch, 1 gluten free 2 vegetarian 1 dairy free. No problem at all, friendly staff and very accommodating. Good choice on menu and specials board. My only suggestion would be to put the central heating on, towards the end of the meal we all felt rather cold even though there was a gas fire...

Went for the first time with friends , good choice on the menu, food was outstanding and well presented and the staff were brilliant had a nice leisurely meal and not rushed at all. Nice shot of complimentary homemade clementine gin at the end of the meal was a lovely end to a perfect evening .

Visited this restaurant last week for the first time, it certainly won't be the last. We went with the Christmas menu, we had different starters, mains, and desserts, all very well presented by friendly staff, and very very good. Thank you.

Small attention to detail could improve the Castle Inn. We stayed in the room with the four poster bed - someone had removed the frill round the top of the bed (as in the photo) and left it looking very bare. The room (Wentworth) is dark blue and desperately needs some warm touches such as a nice picture above the...

We were really pleased to check in to our cosy room on a wet November day. The Mettingham is very attractively styled and has the bonus of a sofa where you can enjoy the contents of the generous tea tray. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Our evening meal was excellent with lots of choice on the menu...

I visited for work but felt as though I was on holiday! My room was lovely, with a sofa, a fireplace and a delightful bathroom. The breakfast was excellent. Bungay itself is a gorgeous little town. I loved everything about this place except the fact I was only there for one brief night. I'd love to come back another time....
