Scallops were over cooked, so very rubbery and the sauce that they were served in was like water. The rest of the food we had wasn't that great and so we left more than half of it. Also very expensive

Visited 13th March 2017. Lovely friendly staff, quaint building and the most amazing home cooked food. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally and the vegetarian nut roast was a delight. Good menu and the three courses my brother and I chose were all generously sized and of very high quality. This is my second visit and I would not...

We visited The Fleece Inn on Saturday. This is a FANTASTIC pub. It has a great atmosphere, outstanding beers, extremely courteous and helpful staff as well as lots of character. Our family of four were made to feel completely at home by Nigel and Tash who clearly excel in their trade and 'went the extra mile' for us.Thankyou! The music...

Having previously only been vaguely aware of The Fleece Inn through an entry in a National Trust Handbook we found ourselves there on a Saturday evening in March for a hastily rearranged gig with Scottish band Skerryvore after their previous venue ceased trading only 3 days earlier. Their loss was our gain! Having purchased gig tickets the day before we...

Beautiful location in the heart of the old village, one will find this quaint pub with twinkling lights on the outside, open fires burning on the inside with a great atmosphere, which all added to our visit. If you are tall, then you will have to duck and dive as the ceilings are very low. Friendly staff eagerly awaited us....

Thanks for visiting us and taking the time to review, glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you can visit again soon. Will pass your menu comments on to the chef - our asparagus season starts next month so he's menu planning at the moment. Best wishes

Saturday lunchtime and it was packed! This was not surprising as it is quite small. We were greeted by a warm, cosy atmosphere, great food and excellent service. As it is soooo old, the beams and ceilings are low and my husband 6'3" had to duck throughout. Parking is in the village...no problem. Really pleased that it is now owned...

Our first trip out with our 14 day old baby daughter and we found the perfect place to relax and recharge. The Fleece Inn has it all, but doesn't shout about it. It is traditional, cozy, welcoming and friendly, and the food we had was just the perfect example of good English fare. We had faggots and steak and ale...

Three bars, dating back centuries. Real fires, perfect for a February day. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Lovely big garden for summer days and a list of entertainment as long as your arm. In the heart of the old village, not well signposted, but look for the church which is next door.
