My husband and I found this fantastic inn while cycling around the cotswolds in July , we stopped for a drink and just fell in love with the place. We tried to book a overnight stay and got a date for November as most dates are booked well in advance and we can understand why ! We have just spent two amazing nights in the master bedchamber room which was extremely comfortable and cozy . The ambiance here is like no where else it’s just incredible! You can not explain in words how it feels to sit in front of the open fire with a cup of mulled cider !!!! The staff could not be more welcoming , friendly and helpful. As were the locals in the pub . The food was fabulous and service great . In a word it was brilliant! We cannot wait until our next visit! Highly recommend it.

Over the past few years, we have visited England 6 times. We had such an amazing time on the first trip with our visit to The Fleece years ago, that we have made it a point to come back on every trip. We have never been disappointed. First, just to experience such a very old pub with so many original features is a gift to those of us who love history and appreciate the preservation of same. Sometimes I feel that some English citizens take these amazing places for granted. We do not. We live in Canada, in a house built in 1872, and THAT is considered VERY old for Canada. To be able to sit in the atmosphere of The Fleece, knowing that it has been welcoming guests for hundreds of years, is, for us, a gift and we treasure it. Second, we have always received a warm welcome from the hosts and servers and never felt like outsiders on any occasion. And last, so very important, the food: everything we have ever ordered has been fresh, hot, homemade and delicious, with special mention for the Steak and Ale Pie, which is, without a doubt, the best in any pub in England, in our experience. Nigel and Tash have made The Fleece an oasis for people who truly “get it” in regards to what a great pub is all about. Shame on those who have criticized little things like cock-ups with the computer system, in this time when all of us are just trying to get through this whole wretched Covid thing. The Fleece deserves all the kind accolades they receive and we will be back again for a “lucky 7th” visit. Thank you so much, Nigel and Tash, for doing what you do. Our only regret is that we don’t live closer! Linda and Paul

What a gorgeous pub! You can almost 'smell' the history of the place as you walk through the door! The staff there were very welcoming. The food was fantastic. The beer was great too. It's so comforting to know that pubs like this still exist in England. I can't wait to return...

This place is a hidden gem. Absolutely stunning to behold, like something out of a fairytale! Plus fantastic food and lovely staff too. Not to be missed. We always stop by when we’re in the area and we’ve never been disappointed. They also offer exceptional vegan options, I’d highly recommend their vegan roast dinner and vegan sticky toffee pudding!! Thank you for a lovely visit once again :)
