Visited courtesy of a Travelzoo offer for a three course lunch. Pub is set in a cute village and has more character than you could shake a stick at. Weirdly on the warmest day of the year (so far) it was very cold inside but soon remedied by the lighting of a an open fire. This did seem a little...

Dropped in here for a snack and drink on the way to a function nearby. It's not all bad.... The weather was bright but had a blisteringly cold wind. When we arrived (having booked) the table was all ready but every door was open and the temperature left a lot to be desired. They opened at 10:30 (I think) and...

Some years ago we took our Canadian friends here during the Asparagus Festival. Too early this time but the food was excellent again. Extremely crowded with a party for drinks but they soon left. Log fire burning merrily.

Having read reviews on the pub and seen the great write-ups I booked a lunch for my family. Also, it being a National Trust pub I thought it would be good. Unfortunately, it was really disappointing. The pub wasn't that busy at all and the service was incredibly slow. We had to wait half an hour for drinks and after...

Wow, do you want to go back in time? This pub is full of history and has so many nooks and crannies. The pub has a book that can be purchased (which I highly recommend) that gives you the history of this 17th century pub. It is incredible and I am lucky enough to be staying within walking distance so...

Scallops were over cooked, so very rubbery and the sauce that they were served in was like water. The rest of the food we had wasn't that great and so we left more than half of it. Also very expensive

Visited 13th March 2017. Lovely friendly staff, quaint building and the most amazing home cooked food. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally and the vegetarian nut roast was a delight. Good menu and the three courses my brother and I chose were all generously sized and of very high quality. This is my second visit and I would not...

We visited The Fleece Inn on Saturday. This is a FANTASTIC pub. It has a great atmosphere, outstanding beers, extremely courteous and helpful staff as well as lots of character. Our family of four were made to feel completely at home by Nigel and Tash who clearly excel in their trade and 'went the extra mile' for us.Thankyou! The music...

Having previously only been vaguely aware of The Fleece Inn through an entry in a National Trust Handbook we found ourselves there on a Saturday evening in March for a hastily rearranged gig with Scottish band Skerryvore after their previous venue ceased trading only 3 days earlier. Their loss was our gain! Having purchased gig tickets the day before we...
