Staff were really welcoming and friendly, but the hotel itself had clearly seen better days. Decor was outdated and shabby in places, but on the plus side parking was easy. We booked a table in what Reception called the Bistro, but there were no signs to a Bistro anywhere and it turned out this was actually the Lounge Bar! It was deafeningly noisy in there, but the fish and chips were fine.

I use this hotel to visit family in Whickham, and every time I feel so welcome. Really clean, smart hotel, fab bar onsite, precinct parking behind the hotel if there isn’t a space on the hotel car parking row. Cheap too £2 a day if that? Location - quiet from the pubs and far from Newcastle town centre, but quick taxi gets you there. 5 min drive from metro centre. The rooms are very decent, really comfy beds, kettle, tea coffee etc, toiletries just in case you forget anything. The only niggle and this is me being lazy lol is there’s no power socket next to the bed to charge the phones. No biggie. The staff really do make this hotel- nothing is a problem they will do everything to make it the most enjoyable stay. Love the banter from front desk when waiting for my ubereats haha. This hotel is run by real people, hardworking, who just make you feel so welcome.

Stayed here umpteen times due to business and it's always the same. Tidy, professional with a great bar and very generous breakfast. Staff have always been great and very helpful. The hotel is a stones throw away from shops, restaurants and other bars which means you are never without choice if you fancy something different.

So I've stayed this hotel twice this week. I would like to have reviewed the food but by the time I've got here both stays, the kitchen has been closed. On my first stay I was disappointed as I had deliberately left home in time to eat here as the menu looks great and the reviews are good, however, I arrived at 6.30 pm on a Sunday and was immediately informed that the kitchen was closed. Nevermind, the team have been lovely on both visits but special shout out to Daniel on reception who had some great chat and exceptional customer service. Well done guys, very friendly hotel.

Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff. Can't help but think it could be so much better with a little update to the decor though. Some plug sockets near the bed would have been nice and the radiator was quite loud. I would stay here again despite the negatives.

Lovely stay at this hotel on the 2nd of July. Rooms are clean but slightly dated décor wise. All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future, all in all a great hotel and excellent location with Newcastle only a quick Uber away.

Our wedding was amazing! The venue was beautifully decorated and nothing was spared on the detail. The food was amazing and all of guests said it was delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate our, and our guests needs. It was the "little things" that made the difference. We can't thank the hotel enough!
