Located close to some amazing walks - which we did! Fantastic breakfast which fuelled us for the day... until we got back for amazing tea and cake. The room was very comfy and the shower a delight. Mary Ann is a great and friendly host. The food and drink at the nearby Inn were brilliant too.

We stayed at Taransey on both the first and last nights of our cycle and were greeted with a pot of tea and home baking on both occasions. I would thoroughly recommend staying at Taransey. The hospitality was very welcoming, the accommodation very comfortable and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast.

Mary Ann made us feel at home. Super bedroom, clean, big shower and delicious breakfast. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying again. The bed and breakfast is located in a small village in the heart of the countryside and is very peaceful and a excellent getaway to enjoy the Scottish highlands.

In an ideal world this is exactly what you should expect from a B&B. A great bed, a full size en suite with a shower that works and a superb full breakfast. In addition expect that you will be well looked after by the genial hostess and her husband. Taransay encapsulates the true definition of a B&B.

My son and I have just spent 2 nights at Taransay. If you crave peace and quiet and congenial company, you will love it here. (No tv or radio !) We didn't miss these at all, as it gave us a rare opportunity to have a pleasant conversation with our hosts and fellow travellers whilst enjoying Mary Ann's delicious tea...

We stayed here in June 2016 for two nights in a twin room. We were quoted £40 per night for the room, on checking out we were told it was £40 per person. Got home and checked diary entry - It was definitely £40 a night for the room we were quoted!! Telephoned for a refund, Mary Ann Cross said...

Mrs Cross runs the wonderful Taransay guest house. It is a spacious and well appointed house. Mrs Cross was very helpful when we arrived in recommending dinner at the local cafe as the hotel was closed for a special function. The guesthouse is located on the North Coast 500 route and is close to a hotel with a bar.

When we first arrived at the Taransay Guest House, we asked about the price per room and the lady of the house said: 40 pounds per room. The rooms were big and clean, but unfortunately there was no TV. We went to a restaurant / bar in the evening and the lady said we had to be home at 11...

It was like coming home to Grandma with tea and cake. I felt very welcome and will definitely stay there again whenever I'm back in the area. The rooms are clean and new and very spacious and it feels like everything is done to make you feel comfortable.
