Villa Le Zagare, charming manor house for unforgettable stays, is strategically located in Gragnano, famous for its Pasta factories, between the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Peninsula. Come, stay and enjoy the best that the area has to offer from Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, to Capri, Amalfi and Sorrento. We really recommend to taste the famous Pasta of Gragnano at our restaurant thanks to our Chef's skills. Surrounded by a Mediterranean garden where you can relax on sunny days, it is the ideal location for leisure or business. In addition to this, our professional and polite staff members take care of all your requests.

Very nice hotel in the typical southern Italian style, with big private parking in the hills nearby the Amalfi coast.
Great service and very nice personnel, always happy to help you and bring you to the nearest railway station. Very tasty breakfast, nice drinks and cocktails and the menu for dinner is superb.
The garden is typically southern, very well maintained and with a beautiful swimming pool (only available if no wedding is organized). However we could use the jacuzzi in the wellness instead the day of a wedding party.
Overall we had a lovely time when visiting Amalfi coast area.

Excellent 3 night stay at the beautiful Villa Zagare, wonderful gardens and pool. Clean, spacious and comfortable beds without outstanding bar, restaurant and staff. New Chef Gianluca presented delicious dinners with 5 star service from Vincenzo who ensured we enjoyed every meal. The reception staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best. The driver drove us all over the area and was waiting for us at points of pick up.
We've been on holiday from NZ in Italy for 3 months and this was our best hotel experience.

How this hotel does not have 5 stars is beyond me. We reached out last minute after a terrible customer service experience at another hotel and Daniela, at the other end of the phone, was so incredible. Although there were no family rooms available they did have a brand new apartment close to the hotel free. We could avail ourselves of all the hotel's amenities (breakfast, pool, bar, etc.) throughout. The apartment was perfect, but what impressed me most was the the level of customer service. Everyone, from the team preparing for the weddings being hosted while we were there, to Elena and the team in the restaurant was attentive and warm. Thank you again Daniela, Maria, Marika and Elena for making our stay so memorable. You deserve that extra star...I'm sure it's on its way. Also, make sure you visit the Scavi di Stabbia and Pizzeria da Iolanda while you are in Gragnano.

I am trying to catch my breath from extreme exhaustion and extreme anger that is running through my veins at this very moment as we are still actually staying at this hotel!!!!!! Before I get to the worst part of this experience let me say that the staff here at the front is great I actually appreciated all the help that they provided and at times I felt they were going above and beyond I actually wouldn’t mind staying here but under one condition! to either have my own car or to not trust their taxi system. I just spent almost an hour walking home after 3 ATTEMPTS to contact a pick up! I actually waited a few minutes after the ETA of the longest point in time which the lady told my girlfriend 10 minutes so I waited maybe 13 or 14 minutes and not that point I was starting to feel very hopeless!!!! My girlfriend stayed at the place and pick up because she has a hard time walking she did have some money on her just in case if she had to call a regular cab at least I know she would’ve reached home at some point or I would’ve raced hell at the hotel and would’ve gone with the taxi cab driver to go pick her up. Everything was going great here but that just ruined the experience at this place. I hope any American reading this or anyone who is not Italian or a part of the system out here would be wise to hear this experience and make sure you either have a Plan B or if I were you completely avoid their taxi system!!!!!

The Reception Staff did the best to help you to communicate to the driver, we hope you appreciated it. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you also have good memories about your stay with us. A highly recommended stay at this family run hotel. Excellent service, cleanliness and hospitality. The owner and the staff always went the extra mile to provide fantastic customer service. The location is within easy reach to Pompeii and also Sorrento by train. We dined in the hotel regularly and the food is always to a very high standard. Make sure you try the limoncello and homemade gelato!
We will definitely return again in the future.

Thank you to Ciro, family and all the staff.

The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, well attended to and the décor is nice. Breakfast is also good. The landscapes are well maintained, the parking is convenient.
HOWEVER, BEWARE!!! This hotel is actually an event venue, so there is a wedding / party every night, with loud music until very late.
They operate fireworks on site, which is a shock when you hear the explosions right above your head....
and NO, nobody warned us about what's to come every night.

First of all, you need a car. There's nothing to do in this area. Second, this hotel has so many rules! We did not feel like guest, we felt we were a burden, and was told what to do and all the things that were not allowed. If we wanted to swim in the pool, we had to wear a swimming hat, but we had to pay for it. It was not allowed to "play" in the pool, a danish family played with a ball in the pool (we were only 6 guest at the pool at the time) and the hotel staff came running told them to stop playing, it was not allowed. The breakfast is very poor, and the facilities are sad. Room needed to be renovated. Every night there were wedding/ party and we had to stay away. Front desk personnel not service minded and not very welcoming. We stayed 3 nights, never again!

Had a camera and computer stolen by hotel staff. They planned the caper and distracted me while they robbed me. So please stay away and stay safe. Staff not friendly and the hotel hosted loud parties every night so using pool and facilities were not possible as they were closed for parties. No food service at night. While the hotel looks nice, it is a deception and they do not provide services promised.

Dear Guest, We are very disappointed for your review. As we communicated by e-mail you didn’t lose your things in our hotel. We checked with particular attention in your room and in the restaurant but your camera and computer there weren’t there. We checked also our security cameras and It caught nothing. We regret for your conviction that our staff stole your things, but we are sure of the contrary. You phoned us after two hours that you left the hotel, it is probably that you lost this things in another place. We want to say also that our guests can use all the facilities of the hotel and it’s impossible that you couldn’t use our pool because every day it is open only for their. Moreover, we remind you that you required us to have dinner in your room during your stay, so our food service is open at night: what you didn’t appreciate?

We had booked to stay for 7 nights after reading the reviews on here. We were looking forward to a relaxing stay in a plush hotel whilst visiting the Amalfi coast but were disappointed by the Le Zagare.
When we arrived after a long drive we were pleased to find the hotel, which stands out in the area, as the drive to it was through a rather run down area which would not cater for tourists. The receptionist came out to offer assistance with our luggage and all seemed good. We were shown to our room which was large, with a large bed, good quality linens and towels and excellent air con. Outside our room was a jacuzzi and a viewing tower which gave a great view of Vesuvious and Naples. The negatives for the room were a mini bar which contained 4 bottles of water which were €2 each and a notice telling you that you could not bring your own food and drink in to store in the fridge. The complimentary shampoo/shower bottles were almost impossible to get any product out of and the hairdryer barely worth the effort. When the people in the room next door used their shower it sounded like they were in our room.
Breakfast was lacking in choice unless you like cakes and pastries. Only conflakes as the choice for cereal. The coffee was the worst i have tasted. The bacon may have tasted ok although it didn't look good. The guy who looked after the breakfast guests however was very nice.
We were not made to feel like guests of the hotel but like gatecrashers at the numerous weddings which took part during our stay. We even had to tolerate a photo shoot whilst trying to sunbathe one afternoon around the pool. No sun loungers are available and no towels provided let alone any offer of drinks/food around the pool area.
There is no where to eat apart from one pizzeria nearby so we were forced to either drive to Sorrento or eat at the hotel.
Some of the staff were polite but others were downright rude. Their command of English was poor so it made communicating with them frustrating and difficult. They do not cater English tourists and made it clear they didn't need the business from them as they obviously make a mint from all the weddings they host.
Not offering a free shuttle service is also poor as it's situated in the middle of nowhere. Gragnano is not a nice place and be prepared for the other road users who do not have any rules and if there is a gap, they WILL fill it.
The hotel was very well kept and cleaned to a high standard, it's just a shame the customer service let them down. Would i stay again. Definitely not.... Unless I was getting married there! !!

Though slightly off the beaten path Gragnano is close to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. If you are travelling through and have a car it is a great stop over with free parking. the property is brand new and seems like it is geared towards events, mainly weddings. If you are there mid week it is quiet, has a great pool, hot tub and lush gardens. Rooms are large, well appointed and vey clean. Staff was polite, and always helpful. Would stay again.
