We had our Christmas meal here on Friday 18th November they did a brilliant job and the food was excellent as was the service. We had to have our Christmas meal earlier then the pub had advertised due to other commitments by some of the group. I has the deep fried brie turkey and Christmas pudding a really good meal... My stay was quite simply amazing! The room was perfect and the food was gorgeous and very generous in portion size. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the landlady was lovely. Will be booking again for sure and next time bringing my family too.

We often visit here and are never disappointed. This time around I enjoyed a beautifully refreshing Elderflower and Blackcurrant cider to wash down a gorgeous Steak pie. Hubby chose Cajun chicken with big fat chips. A roaring fire, friendly staff, cosy interior and a bill of only £36.00 I'd say cheers to that. Good parking and convenient location.

We stayed at Rock Cottage which is next door to the Dog Inn and an overflow accommodation. It was delightful. There is a bathtub! This, for a walker, is total bliss after a long day of hiking. If we return we will stay at Rock Cottage again, and have dinner next door at the Dog Inn. A perfect combination.

We were staying in Old Sodbury (walking the Cotswold Way) and needed to eat in the evening. On first impressions the pub didn't look anything special or appealing. However we were very pleasantly surprised at the friendly service and lovely meal having ordered our drinks. Such a lot of choice of food (especially different types of fish) for a pub... More

I needed an overnight break for a long journey somewhere near the M4, J18. I did my research, finding several places within 5 or 6 miles but all costing what I felt was a lot just for B & B. Then I found the Dog Inn. Much better value and looked promising. Easy to find as well. I wasn't disappointed.... More

It was the first time we'd eaten here for about 15 years. I remember it as serving excellent food and having an extensive menu. The menu wasn't huge and the food we had was ok. My husbands steak was cooked to his liking and my hunters chicken was ok but we ordered onion rings and they were squidgy not crisp... More

Visited last Saturday September 10th when visiting family in Yate, they are regular diners at the pub so they chose it. The food was excellent and the menu choice in my opinion very varied. Couldn't fault the food but my only negative point would be that £3.50 for peppercorn sauce to me seems excessive and to have a whole gravy... More
