When visiting Goa, I'd urge anyone to think outside the box. Lots of tourists are seduced by the beach resorts in the noisy north and the sultry and secluded south. If that's your thing then fine, but if you want an introduction to the real, rural Goa, then you could do no better than this wonderful rambling guest house on...

We wanted to relax as it turned out this was the perfect spot for us. It's quite but surprisingly well connected via road and ferry to main tourist attractions. Facilities were great and I got to see some card magic tricks. Would happily plan to stay again.

This is an amazing house very tastefully decorated . The house is located on the Divar island which can only be reached by a ferry, once off the ferry you enter a land of peace and tranquility. The hosts are amazing, warm and accomidating. A must stay if you want to take a break from the city rush.

Recently stayed at this cosy homestay. My first experience of a homestay. Must say rather enjoyable one. Situated close to Ribunder or Divar jetty , this colonial home with a garden is owned by a warm couple Aarti and Jan Bostock with their gorgeous daughters. Luku who is the man in charge of daily affairs is does a fab job....

This time, we saw a different side of Goa AND we found it loving, rocking and amazing. 80% of that side is this place. A very nice cozy and comfortable "HOME"stay on Divar Island. The place is run by a very loving family who by all means will go beyond any limit to ensure you are happy. While they have...

This homestay was such a nice surprise during our trip through the South of India. The host family were amazing, always going out of their way to look after us and make sure we were having a good stay. They gave us a tour around the island to see the sights we might not be able to find alone, and...

This place was recommended to me by a friend who knows the owner, Jan Bostock. Upon meeting Jan, he proved to be the 2nd funniest bloke I have ever met. A larger than life Pom with an infectious character. The next 24 hours proved to be the highlight of my trip to Goa. A small group of friends were with...

It has to be the best place we visited in Goa, a peaceful getaway away from the city. Initially, being in a friend group of 9, we were hesitant to go there for lunch thinking that it is a guest house run by a family and hence we might feel a bit restricted. The tourists were mostly foreigners and it...

Good Day to you and thank you for looking at Divar Island Guest House Retreat. We are a small family run concern and first and foremost you must know, this is not a hotel but our home. We are a . Mum, (Jean), My wife (Arati) my daughters, (Alisha and Anya) not forgetting our German Shepards (Simba and Junior) both well mannered but bark sometimes when they first meet you and lastly Me (jan) with the support of my right hand men, Luku and Geet. We try our best to ensure that your stay with us is comfortable and hopefully eventful fun and social wise. You can have peace and quite if you prefer or just join in. Our rooms are serviced hot water by a Solar system, so once the water is out and it has gone cold, you must advise us and we will but the water heater on or bring you a bucket of hot water. We dont have 24 hr staff so it would be helpful if you advise us before everyone has gone to bed. (We are available 24hrs just in case of emergency but in case you want a snack sorry when we have gone to bed the food stand is closed). If you have booked a particular set package, that is what you will receive, should you wish to order additional items, it is no issue but there will be an additional charge. Should you wish something that is not on the Menus then that is Ok as we will arrange it for you but you must give us some notice to go get the shopping or fresh produce. The ferry runs 24hrs so if you do come back after 2.30am please use the old Goa ferry point and it cost Rs55.00 ... more   less
