I stayed here for about a month and was very happy here.. Jing was such a kind lovely lady and I loved hanging out with her and her family. Her husband was very polite and helpful whenever I asked. The bungalow is basic but the one I stayed in had no bugs at all.. which was wonderful and surprising especially as you are in the jungle.. there are a lot of steps to the beach.. but you learn not to forget anything. It was very hot on the island but I had a delicious breeze up on the hill and the sunrise view was wonderful. I didn’t eat much at the resort as the prices were a bit higher than surrounding places but I had a lovely plate of fresh fruit every morning.

We have now visited Good Morning Bungalow twice. First time a year ago during our around the world trip and second time on our extra honeymoon trip because it is maybe the best place in the world. Huge reason for us loving this place so much has been the owners. Rorn, Jing and the extended family keep such a good care of every visitor. The place is peaceful, relaxing and in a beautiful location on top of a hill overlooking the ocean. Bungalows are cozy, quite spacey and clean. You have everything your need, including a nice balcony with a hammock for relaxing. There really isn’t a much better place for that in the world. Getting down to the beach requires taking a few (okay 187) steps which is good exercise among all the relaxing. The beach is perhaps the best beach on the island both for swimming (not too many rocks) and just sunbathing on the beach, be it low or high tide. There isn’t too many things to do in Koh Jum, other than the famous relaxing (really, you should try it), but some recommendations we can give. One is the hike to the Koh Pu mountain, which is a nice half a day trip. High recommendation to Mr. Ann’s organised trip there. He also runs a Thai boxing gym and gives lessons, which was great even for beginners. Rorn’s brother is a fisherman so you can also organise a trip to go fishing with him or just on a boat trip with his long-tail boat. If everything else is already done, then just driving around the island on a motorbike is never a bad idea. Good Morning Bungalow is located quite in the center of Tingrai village, so you have a few restaurants and shops nearby within walking distance. Although we do recommend renting a motorbike for quick and easy access to everything there is on the island. The thing is though, that for food there is absolutely no better place anywhere than the restaurant at the bungalow. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. The food stands out even on thai standards and we usually find ourselves eating there three times a day. Strong recommendations from the menu are ‘Sweet rice’ for breakfast (if you’re familiar with rice porridge, bring some cinnamon with you and it feels like Christmas) and Garlic & Pepper stir fry for whatever meal. Overwhelming thanks for Rorn, Jing and the family for having us as your guests. This is definitely a place where it just feels so easy and natural to come and enjoy your vacation. We are surely coming back for a third time. Best regards, Liisa & Kasper

Perfekt Location at the beach (best of the Island) with a small Restaurant at the top of the hill. Basic but clean Bungalow with amazing view. We came here twice because we just loved it! But the best part about it is the family who runs the place. The most friendly, helpful and considerate hosts we've had during our trip. Thank you so much!

The owners Rorn and Jing are very pleasant and Rorn speaks very good English. They are very helpful! Their welcome to the bungalows was lovely too, giving us free water on arrival, lifting our bags to and fro (also when checking out). Food is the normal Thai food that you will find in any menu and probably an option for everyone. The rooms are very basic shacks but clean. The location is great. You can see the monkeys in the trees if you sit on your balcony in the evening (sometimes lunchtime too). The beach is down a large amount of steps but it's easily accessible. Very close. The beach is beautiful and is never too crowded. Everyday there was maximum 15/20 people along the beach as far as the eye can see. The waters are very clear too. Getting to and from the island is a long tail boat and speedboat transfer. 400 BHT per person and they arrange this for you seamlessly. All in all, our 3 night stay was a beautiful and relaxing experience.

On booking the bungalow I was told that the longboat that collected us from the ferry and a transfer to the bungalow was free. I was explicitly told not to pay any more money. Despite this the man that collected us (the same man that runs this place with his wife) quietly asked us for 200 BAHT extra off us, saying that he was giving us a deal as it should be 400 to pay for the long tail boat. We explained that the hotel has paid for this already (not knowing he was the owner at this point). He then said no more and took is in a tuk tuk to the bungalows. It was then apparent him and his wife ran the accomodation. From this start we didn't feel comfortable and did not trust them. The bungalow was very basic but nice and in a lovely setting. You can see the monkeys when sat on the balcony in the evening. The beach is a steep walk down and back up but is a lovely quiet beach and a good place to swim. Ko Jum is a very peaceful and nice place to go for a couple of nights. It is easy to hire a moped for 250 BAHT and this make it easy to pop around the island for food etc. The people on the island are friendly and the food is nice. Within the village there is a nice place to play pool for 100 BAHT and hour. I would recommend the location but not the staff at this place. We have been on a 5 week trip and all the people who run there own business have been more than honest and helpful. Unfortunately the man here set a bad Impression which tainted our view.
