We stayed here for four nights in January 2020 and overall the hotel is very good. Want to point out that the staff has adequate English skills, the premises are guarded at night with an on site guard. The staff is friendly and helpful. The on site fitness center is top class with free water and towels. Big shower facilities and few people using it. Nice view too! Checking in was simple despite us being an hour early. Arriving to the pier via speed boat it took us only about 4 minutes to reach the hotel on foot. The breakfast is as any hotel breakfast, although significantly better than our other stays in ao nang and Railay. Big selection of American breakfast. The rooms are roomy, with a nice balcony and simple decor. The shower was amazing with high pressure water, usually not common here. Cleaning services are good, you get free water in the minibar every day. Beds are alright although one mattress was really hard and the other one really soft. The only problem with this hotel (which is why I have it 4/5) is that the walls are super thin and it gets really really loud at night even when people just walk around in the rooms next to you and outside. I woke up several times a night from the noise and I’m a pretty sound sleeper. Really a shame since everything else is great here. The hotel has a simple pool, sadly it was overfilled with screaming kids though. It’s a family hotel so I guess that’s to be expected. Really close and central of you want to explore phi phi don and the other islands/activities available from the various tourist counters.…
A beautiful place to stay and have a relaxed and quiet time. We loved it! We stayed in 3 different villas (thai wood style), all of them had a different nice charm. Breakfast is included and you can choose between different meals (Thai, international, western, healthy) and tasted very good. The Managerin and her staffs are so friendly and helpful, I have not enough words for this! Thank you for all! You are amazing. Hope we will see us again. Manuel & Lisa
We stayed at the lovely Banyan Bay Villas for 4 nights in the Orchid Villa. It was an extremely comfortable and roomy villa. The traditional design is really beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the fans did a great job at night time. There were mosquito nets supplied but they were not used or necessary. We slept extremely well on all nights. The local troop of monkeys passed behind the Villa every day supplying much amusement. The beach at the property is just stunning. Plenty of trees to hide under to shade from the sun while lying on the beautiful bamboo beach bed. The water is free from rocks, unlike many other areas of Koh Jum, making swimming delightful. You did have to pick the tides as it does go out a lot at low tide. The available free kayaks are a lot of fun. We ate at the restaurant 3 of the 4 nights. The food was superb. All dishes we ordered were made with obvious care and attention to detail. It seemed to be very authentic fresh Thai food. The wine selection was very good. All prices in the restaurant were extremely reasonable. We ate at a Koh Jum seafood on the other night on recommendation from the staff, and it also was superb. We hired mopeds from the hotel and they were in great condition. You don't really need them but they were great to have a look around the island. All the staff were so very friendly and helpful. Nai was a standout, she obviously really enjoys her job and does it so well. Kitima, the owner, was such a great person to meet. She just loved a laugh, and loved her property, and also you could see the care she had for all her staff and guests. She had such an great ethical outlook on the resort, her staff and the island. Oh and we can't forget Kitima's dogs, Banchee and Mila. What happy and silly dogs. They enjoy their life. Our visit to Koh Jum was fantastic, made more so by where we stayed. Hope to see you next year.…
Great place, great food and great wine. Very relaxing place. It’s very clean and peaceful. Staff is sooooo friendly and helpful. Been here 3 times and will come back again and again. I reco Banyan Bay Villas to everyone.
We did not stay in the hotel, rather stopped at the restaurant for drinks and a snack, to watch the sunset. But would definitely consider the hotel as it was in a lovely spot. Drinks were good, not too expensive, and we tried a specialty snack that was lovely....staff wonderful. Clean bathroom!
We stayed here three nights during New Year’s Eve. The whole stay was perfect. It began with a good communication in the beginning because one of our family member can not eat seafood and chicken. So they prepared every meal special for him - including the New Year’s Eve Dinner. Wow - we never had such a friendly service. The Bungalows have been very clean, comfortable and have a very good view on the sea. The food in the restaurant is amazing. We also tried the massage which was one of the best in south east Asia. Last but not least the whole staff was sooo friendly - we felt like home! :-) thank you for a wonderful stay!!
Six of us stayed at BBV for 5 days and had the best time. Koh Jum is a sweet island, still rustic and not crowded like "hot spot" islands in Thailand. The owner Kitima is delightful, super knowledgeable, and on top of her guests' needs. Nai, the manager, is the best ever and always available to help out and make your stay that much better. The food is delicious, not to mention the gin and tonics!
This was exactly what I was looking for as I needed a bit of downtown in a quiet place. Food was very good, service very attentive , owner friendly and I had an excellent massage for Ms. Bee. Easy to get to from Krabi airport .
We ate lunch on the fab terrace overlooking the bay. Spicy shrimp salad and yellow curry crab were lovely. A few cold Singhas topped it off nicely. Located on the far north of Ko Jum. Worth a trip just to eat in the restaurant and relax on the beach.
We were initially booked in for 4 nights but only stayed 2 nights. It was nothing to do with the property but we decided to move on earlier than planned. We were the only guests and the staff were very attentive. The villa we were booked in to, the Bali Villa, was lovely, with views overlooking the private beach and the rest of the resort. The room was very spacious and clean and the food in the restaurant was really nice and plenty of choice (crispy spring rolls were the best we've had and the tuna salad with crispy wontons was a favourite). We were woken each morning by monkeys running across the roof of the villa. They come down from the hills each morning to catch the water from the previous nights rainfall which was amazing. Koh Jum is a small island which we saw all of in an hour on a scooter. Due to the time of year, there was nowhere else to eat or drink so we were confined to the resort which was a bit disappointing and although I was aware that it was a quiet island when making the booking, we did expect to be able to eat/drink elsewhere if we wanted to. If we were to return to Koh Jum, we would definitely stay here again.…
