Detailed Reviews
Very beautiful resort in a wonderful garden inbetween the bungalows and rooms directly at the beach or nearby at the western coast. Very clean and calm. The host Ayu and the staff were absolute friendly and so helpful. When we had a problem in our room she offered immediately another room. The restaurant is also very great. Authentic and delicious food. Thank you so much Ayu and staff for the wondeful and uncomplicating stay!

Could not take a shower for 2 days... no water at shower and had to complain many times before problem would be solved.
Breakfast are excellent and dinner food in general.
Staff smiling and helpful most of the time. Manager can be pretty rude and obsequious.
Arrival was very hectic - being solo why should a boat be sent? - and explanations and complaints were not properly heard... Had to wait over 2 hours before a taxi was sent to pick me up...

Awe (A-U) was an amazing host. Her resort is clearly the love of her life. Perfectly situated on the koh po side of the island for stunning sunsets with a pina colada in hand.
Rooms are clean and tidy. Unfortunately they do not have AC. That was the only downside. Koh Po is off the beaten track. It feels like a private high end resort away from the masses. There are a few nice restaurants on either side of Coral Bay Resort if you want to switch it up during your stay.

Room Tip:Â Best December to February. Ensure you have enough cash as it is hard to come by on the island.

Fantastically nice place where you just relax and slow down. The food is good and the price is cheap.
There is good service and it is just a nice place to spend a few days. The beach is not sand but stone. But the view and the sunset make it all worth it.
Can highly recommend the place. Been there twice now and will definitely be back.

We stayed here for 3 nights to get away from all the tourists on the other islands and this is what it provided.
A quiet place with a near empty beach. There were a few places along the beach where you could purchase a drink etc..
The previous reviews are correct regarding the rocky beach - not ideal for swimming - but there is another beach a few minutes walk away which is ideal for this.
The huts were basic, but you are paying £10 per night so I was not expecting anything more!!
What made it for us was the people there. Aew & her dad were so welcoming & a great laugh. They couldn't do more for you and make this place into what it is. The food is excellent. I wasn't expecting much considering its a small island but the menu is extensive, very reasonably priced and very nice.
At night it was great to relax in the bar at night, overlooking the beach, have great food and a few drinks. WIFI is also provided at night & I never had an issue with the signal.
Aew also organised a snorkelling trip for us & took care of all that which was great. You can relax, lie on the beach, go on a snorkelling trip, take walk to the village, where you will pass wild monkeys and see working elephants.
All in all I would recommend this island and resort, at least for 2-3 days just to experience something else. I guess this island is what the others were like 25 years ago. It may not not last forever!!

I wanted to find an old fashioned Thailand beach bungalow holiday. No frills, just beach and hopefully very few people. Coral bay was just as expected and Aew the manager was just perfect. 10 days of nothing but books, cards, cocktails and food. Lovely.

Considering price, quality, size of the dishes, etc. I can't remember when I paid so much for so little. The tomato soup I ordered was sweet and sour sauce from a jar heated and put on a plate, a few pieces of fresh tomato thrown on the top. You might as well serve varm ketchup as tomato soup. The fresh pineapple juice I made sure was fresh before ordering, was obviously out of a carton. When I asked to see the juicer they make the fresh pineapple juice with, I couldn't because it was being washed. The next day I asked again to see the fresh pineapple juicer, I still could not get to see it. How embarrasing. On top of constantly being shortchanged and lied to straight to my face, the staff tried to overcharge me, charging me for a dish I had already paid for. Take your money and run..!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Coral Bay. The bungalows were simple and there was no air conditioner (they do have a fan), but Ko Jum is special. The breakfast was really delicious- they have many choices. I really appreciated the tomato cheese omelette and the chicken rice soup with garlic and ginger. The set up on the beach is lovely and they arranged transport from the Krabi airport that was excellent (for a reasonable charge). We also rented a motorbike from the hotel that helped us explore this wonderful island.

Me and my girlfriend booked the bungalo for 2 days but ended up staying for a week.
Let me start of with the resort itself. The rooms are good. They are big but very basic. You have your own private bathroom and the beds sleep prety good. The beach is a 30 meter walk and the area is very clean and very childproof.
The owner is amazing and speaks good english. She is very friendly and she wil help you with anything you need if you ask her.
The food is amazing. Like the best i have ever had in thailand. The family had a restaurant for 14 years on koh lanta before they opend this place.
The island itself is amazing. All the people just smile and greet you and everything is nearby. Its so peacefull and quiet just what you need if you came from some big city like us.
I would come back here whenever i could because man i have never been so relaxed.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Coral Bay for two nights in one of their standard bamboo bungalows.
We have been travelling around Thailand for over a month now so we have a good understanding of what you can expect for the price you pay and have to say we were a little disappointed with Coral Bay.
Our bungalow was a decent size, had a fan, mosquito net and private cold water bathroom however still felt a bit too basic to be paying 900 baht a night (which is one of the most expensive rooms we've stayed in). We had previously stayed in the resort next to it (Peace Paradise) which was much nicer and better value for money - we only moved to Coral Bay as we knew that they had better electricity hours and wifi that we needed to use to plan our onward travel. Another comparison to make with Peace Paradise is that Coral Bay did not have as nice an atmosphere as Peace Paradise (for backpackers anyway).
Coral Bay also seemed to have a really exceptionally bad problem with ants. We are fully aware that ants are everywhere and hard to control and as a result are very careful with keeping food in our rooms but this still didn't seem to stop them raiding the place i.e. under bedsheets, pillows and pretty much all over the bathroom! Another wildlife issue we had (which we have not previously had in other much more open bungalows) was lizards. We really don't mind lizards in the room, (especially as they are supposedly good luck and keep the mosquitoes away) however the ones in our room were pooing EVERYWHERE. Every time we got into bed we would find gecko poo on the sheets - maybe it was the abundance of ants in their diet!
The restaurant was a bit hit and miss - we had a couple of meals we didn't really think were worth writing home about but also had one really exceptional massaman curry one night.
One thing to also bear in mind if you are booking your room on Agoda, is they seem to overbook a lot of rooms. One morning a boat full of guests arrived, all of whom had pre-paid for their bungalows, and were told that their rooms were not available and were sent to a different hotel on a different part of the island with the promise they would be collected and brought back the next day. A few of these guests seemed to be (understandably) quiet upset as they were only planning on spending a few days on the island and were now going to be spending two of those days travelling to and from the temporary hotel.
All in all there is nothing dramatically wrong with this place however we felt it was a bit soulless and overpriced and definitely think there are better options on the same stretch of beach.
