We stayed in the bungalows on the beach, there is three of them they are lovely and traditional but could do with a few little updates... We couldn't lock our room when we were in at night, the safe wasn't attached to the wall 🙄and there was no fridge.... Also the make up wardrobe was broken so unable to use (no coat hangers) none of these things spoilt or stay but put right would of made the stay more enjoyable

We my son(9) and I stayed there for 4 nights. We would have loved to stay there longer.
We had booked the place through booking.com in good time, so we got the best bungalow placed on the beach. So lovely to sit in the hammock and each the sun goes down. Or in the mornings before everyone wakes up.

The only bad thing is the road that goes through just behind the bungalow. But not something that will keep me from staying there again.
Actually it's the one place from our trip that I definitely want to go again.
Nice restaurant with wifi. Great food.
The bungalow nice and clean and loved the outdoor bathroom.
Staff so friendly and helping. Not very good at English but everything works out with patients:)
My warmest recommendation

Golden Pearl Beach resort is a very nice place to stay. A familyrun business, very friendly. A few years ago they only had basic huts, but most of the basic huts have been replaced by very nice aircon & hot shower bungalows at a fair price. The beach bungalows (2 x) are really nice. They also still have some very cheap basic bungalows.
The Thai food is probably the best on the island. I read some reviews complaining about not speaking English good enough. Come on, you are in Thailand! Take the time, speak slowly and basic English and everything will be okay. Learn some basic Thai phrases and smile.
The main road runs 'through' the resort. That sounds bad, but isn't. There is not much traffic and it is very nice to sit on your balcony and see the locals going to school or work. When you walk to a shop or village, many locals will offer you a ride.
We have stayed at Golden Pearl Beach resort many times. Last time with young children (7, 5 and 2) and they had a great time, playing with the Thai children of the family and staff running the resort. Koh Jum is a very nice and quiet island. If you want to party all night or go on jetski etc: go to another island...

Piles of garbage and empty bottles right next to our bungalow
Right behind the bungalow is quite busy noisy road.
Broken beach beds grey from mold with equally dirty/moldy pillows
Overpriced: 1500THB - while on the island we have discovered other resorts with luxury feel compared to this one for much less
Caged birds and squirrel in the sun next to restaurant ( squirrel dead on our day 3)
Owners obviously do not seem to care at all to freshen up the place or to make it comfortable at all
Plus point: bungalow clean inside, nice laid back beach bar

Koh Jum is a nice little island if you're looking to do not much other than relaxing. Golden Pearl is right on a really nice beach. It's a bit rocky in areas, but not too much so and the sunset are unreal. Our bungalow was fairly spacious and you can walk from the balcony to the sea in about 5 seonds, thats how much you are on the beach. The bathroom is open top- this is really nice in some ways, but also means you get quite a few bugs and leaves in there. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is a bit pricey, but pretty good. The FU bar is great (the barman's laugh will crack you up everytime). Overall, if you're looking for somewhere to just relax and enjoy beautiful, empty beach this is the place to stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights and had we known what we know now we would have opted for the bigger bungalow and stayed our entire Thailand vacation as it has everything a family seeking peace and quiet needs.
The staff was so friendly, the food felt home made and the banana pancake was the best we've ever had.
Our three year old loved the beach, the little swing and found new friends to play with. Our one year old loved the food and the sand. It all felt safe and we could relax and enjoy our time in the island.
Went in a little walk to explore some crabs and we sure did find them.
