My little adoptive family. Here in this place, I felt at home. The boss is super friendly. Amazing. The bungalow for me is for my girlfriend, it was more than enough. The beach at 10 meters. A beach almost just for us. The cook and the food prepared by them is wonderful. Here you can also rent a motocycle. Here, there is also an evening fire show. There is also a kayak available for free I want and I will return to this island, this place. thank you so much for everything. For the next time, I will stay here to live and work with you
Our fourth year for visiting the Last Fisher, our favourite eating place on this beach. Amazing value for money authentic Thai food and cocktails, always very tasty and more than ample portions . Matt , his wife who cooks, and the other staff are friendly and welcoming and are eager to please, and will adjust how spicy you want the food . The kitchen is spotless. Situated on a beautiful beach, just walk a few metres for good swimming.
We loved Last Fisher. Great hosts, excellent food, extremely good value. We stayed 4 nights and would certainly stay longer. One of the better restaurants on the island and comfortable no frills bungalows for 650 baht in high season, breakfast included! Perfect for those who wish to avoid the package-tourist madness. We would come again anytime.
Very nice for a quiet, relaxing time. Restaurant gets busy in the evenings and they play some music. Food was decent and well priced. Cheap cocktails, although I can’t comment on how they taste as I didn’t try any. Not a nice swimming beach. Better swimming beaches on the Southern parts of the island. Nice to have mosquito nets in the rooms and they provide body wash, lotion, shampoo and conditioner and nice, soft towels. Would be nice to have a broom in the room as sand does come in. What you see is what you get. Simple, modest bungalows with a fan and a beautiful view.
To update on some of the older reviews:- 1) Our bungalow (A4) had a normal flush toilet, although the one by the cafe was bucket-flush 2) We saw no caged monkey, so I presume it isn't there any more. The only pets we saw were cats and dogs which wandered where they wanted but mostly kept to themselves. Getting there: We caught the ferry (not the speedboat) and asked :Last Fisher to pick us up. Due to light traffic, we were able to actually get the ferry an hour earlier than planned. A man at the pier phoned Last Fisher for us and told them we had arrived early, and they sent the transfer immediately. A taxi would have been 300 THB for the two of us. Accomodation: The cottages were basic, but adequate. A double bed, with mosquito net, and a large shelf either side, and lots of little storage ledges along the walls. The windows had slats which opened to allow ventilation in, without letting the sun in, which worked rather well. Some nights we needed the fan (brought it inside the mos net as more effective), others we didn't. The bathroom had toilet, wash basin, and cold water shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel were provided. There were quite a lot of bits falling from the bathroom ceiling onto the toilet cistern and the wash basin, so we made sure we left toothbrushes etc in the washbag rather than on the side of the basin. As is quite normal, the staff didn't come into the room for the 5 days we were there, but when we ran out of toilet paper, I just found the room cleaner, and she gave me a new one. Likewise when the toilet paper bin needed emptying, I just emptied it into the big bin in the toilet by the cafe, so not a problem at all. Cafe/bar: They had a special offer on the whole of the time we were there, which may well be permanent - all cocktails 100 THB, and all main dishes 100 THB (rice an extra 30). Good value indeed. The mai tai cocktails were delicious (so good that we never moved onto trying any others). It was nice to have the choice of sitting outside on the beach or inside. The first night, we were disappointed in our meal (green curry and laab) but that was the only disappointing meal, all the others were very good. We like spicy food, and each day when we asked for spicy, they made it a bit more spicy than the previous day. Good job we weren't staying too many more days else we'd have had to ask them to hold off a bit! There are one or two other places to eat along the beach if you do fancy a change (but a bit dearer than this one). All the cafe/bar staff were charming and friendly. The beach: Trees provide some shade on the beach most of the day, if you want it. There are rocks in the sea, but you can swim with care at high or low tide. At low tide you can see where the rocks are so you can plan the best places to swim at high tide. Near the boundary with Relax next door seemed to be a good place. The water wasn't at all clear when we arrived due to high waves the previous day, but cleared as our stay went on.…
