Huts are located central on the island, which we found perfect for a small trip to koh Jum. There are several great restaurants only a few minutes away with AWESOME thaifood (the best we had on our vacation). The place is clean and we had no problem with not being that close to the sea. Aircon was a lifesaver!! The owner means well and arranged scooter rental for us for 200 baht/day. He is maybe a little (too) serviceminded and was trying to convince us to book further journey through him - seemed dissapointed we didn’t.
This place is a 3 minute ride by scooter to the nearest beach. The owner Cho and his wife Boo are charming. They greet you with fruit and water, and arrange collection from ferry by long tail and short tuk tuk ride with Cho. We hired his scooter/s with helmets for 100 baht a day. He sells water beer and coke etc a market prices. Nearest restaurant Ban Ban is 2 mins scooter away. Huts are great air-con that works quietly, hammock, shade, etc etc. FABULOUS
It's hard to give a review of this place when Koh Jum is a paradise and people are very nice here... But we had so many problems with this accommodation... First of all the map in booking.com showed that the bungalows are close to the beach, when in fact it's almost 2 km away from the beach. You'll get ONE free motorbike, which helps a bit. The bungalows are nice, clean and the garden surrounding is not ready but nice either way. Location is good if you're not looking to stay at the beach. From this accommodation you can easily explore the village and meet the very friendly villagers! Biggest problems we had was with the host who couldn't speak English, but tries his best. He is doing his best to be nice but sometimes fails heavily. For example, he took us to a party and ordered lots of beer (which my friend didn't drink at all) and other drinks, without asking us. We were not planning on drinking a lot that night and because of the language barrier he didn’t understand that we don’t want to order anymore (my plan was to serve him a beer or two, not seven of them). Otherwise he is very friendly and tries his best! Maybe he tries a little too hard? Koh Jum is a wonderful place and the best place I visited on the whole Thailand holiday! We just had a few problems. I recommend this if you are prepared to be strict, have enough cash to pay for sudden and unplanned expenses and are okay with not being near the beach.…
