Peter and Hilary welcomed us in the early evening with a cup of tea and an enjoyable chat. We had so much in common and we learnt so much about the local area. Encountering friendly people along the way really makes a trip and Peter and Hilary did this so easily. Sauntering through the wonderful English countryside was one of...

We decided to have a few days away to visit some museums and locations we had not been to for a long time. We began with a visit to Beamish Museum. Low Urpeth Farm is minutes away. What a wonderful night, such a comfortable bed, beautiful room and handy en suite (no luxurious toiletries for us though ;-( Peter made...

I picked this B&B because of the Trip Advisor reviews though I did wonder if they were genuine because they seemed so gushing. Having stayed a night I realise they are genuine. This is what I look for in a place to stay: lovely room, good facilities, nice people, quality breakfast. Would recommend highly to anyone with similar priorities.

A warm welcoming home to return to after a day of touring about. Very comfortable room with fresh linen, large fluffy towels and lovely toiletries. Such a comfortable bed. Hilary and Peter are lovely hosts with a warm friendly way with people. Appreciated the farm location surrounded by grain paddocks rather than buildings. Plenty of secure parking. Loved the breakfast...

Booked 2 nights B&B and had a lovely surprise to be given Katie's Cottage (named after the family dog). The cottage has 1 double room with en suite and 1 twin room with en-suite. The kitchen has dishwasher, washing machine and great sized fridge-freezer, together with all crockery/ glass ware and every other kitchen utensil you could possibly need. The...

After a long day's drive, this was a perfect place to arrive. Wonderful location, easy to find, spotless bedroom, and a perfect hostess. The rooms were immaculate, bear in mind this is a very old house, so expect uneven floors and antique furniture, it's all part of the charm! Breakfast is also just what you'd expect, excellent ingredients, fresh local...

I stayed in the main house and my friends in the self catering annexe. I can't fault Low Urpeth Farm in any way. My bedroom was spotlessly clean, and so was the annexe. We cooked our own dinner in the annexe, which had a fully equipped kitchen. The breakfast in the morning can only be described as excellent. The breakfast...

The farmhouse at Low Urpeth is on a 500 acre farm, worked by the Johnson family for several centuries. It is beautifully situated; walking from the Ouston Roundabout towards the house, you are reminded of every children’s book you ever read that was set in the English countryside. There is a sitting-room for guests, in which we were welcomed with...

We wanted a nice self-catering cottage to be near to our Grandparents to spend Christmas time together. My fiance found a self-catering bungalow on Low Urpeth Farm which has B&B in addition to self catering bungalows- and what a find! An absolute treat which far surpassed what we'd imagined. Such loving details! There was a beautiful Christmas tree with twinkly...
