This hostel is awesome. It's great, affordable, with spectacular views. The climb up from the Dazhai main village can be a pain, but no doubt is worth it. You feel like your in a traditional wood lodging. The best part is for the sunrise it's a short hike, about 15 minutes, to the top view point for the sunrise. It...

This hostel is indeed perfect for a trip to the rice terraces, but I must warn you that it is not easy to find or access. If you plan to hike the rice terraces, staying at this hostel is a no-brainer since it is already situated very high on the terraces. Once you set up camp at the hostel, you...

the hostel is located about 20 mins away from viewpoint number 2 and 30 min from viewpoint number 1. It is very far from viewpoint number 3, in my opinion viewpoints 1 and 2 are far better :) They also sell local dishes like bamboo meat and rice. There is a small guide book with pictures of places to help...

We ended up in a top corner room with plenty of natural light and a great view. English speaking staff were friendly and helpful. The location in among the rice terraces was great. Food was very good, served in the nice common area. Showers were mostly cold. Be sure to hike to the nearby viewpoint up the hill. We did...

What a special place! The hike up here from where the bus drops you in Dazhai is a sweaty 40mins but it's worth it to already be up the hill to explore the rice terraces. The views from here are amazing so even in rainy weather you can enjoy the terraces. From here you can do loads of walks to...

The views are the main draw here. The location is good in terms of being surrounded by spectacular scenery and the closeness o the trailhead of the 3 viewing points as well as the hike to Ping'an. However, that also means it's quite far from the bus stop and requires some strenuous hiking, at least with luggage - remember to...

went in April and had to walk uphill for about an hour from dazhai village to Tiantou village to reach the hostel. It was hot day and the climb can be hard for some. get plenty of water though you can buy on the way but for a 25% price increase. Hostel is made on wooden stills as are others...

If I could give this place 3 1/2 stars, I would. Of all the places in Dazhai, this is probably the best place. The views are incredible, and the staff was helpful. However, they may not have been entirely forthcoming with bus information for how to get back to Guilin. With that being said, they helped us hire a driver...

This is a nice hostel, well located in the middle of the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces area. The hostel is basic, but provides good bedding and clean rooms. We had a very basic ensuite but a breathtaking view from the window (definitely the highlight!) The lounge area is nice and staff speak good English. It's a good choice for a...
