My wife an I stayed at the Gledfield B&B for two nights recently while visiting Lewis. This B&B is in a small village on the main road between Stornoway and Tarbet with easy access to the Calanish Stones and the western and northern parts of Lewis. Our room provided us with all the basics we needed. Marion is a very...

This was our second stay with Ian and Marion. Both are very helpfull to give you the maximum comfort. Breakfasts and meals were excellent. Rooms are comfortable very well equipped. Nice lounge too. The place Balallan is central for exploring the Western coast (Calanish standing stones, blackhouses, Uig coastline, Abhainn Dearg distillery) and near to the capital city Stornoway in...

We stayed at Gledfield with Marion and Iain for three nights and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. A very comfortable room with lots of little extras in the room from toiletries to bottled water. Warm and well furnished with beautiful Harris tweed soft furnishings and a lovely ensuite shower room. Breakfasts were lovely and served in guest...

Under a sky of darkening cloud I was glad to arrive at Gledhill after my first full day of walking in the Hebrides. Marion and Iain gave me a warm welcome and saw me comfortably installed in a twin ensuite room overlooking the green rear garden. After a hot shower I strolled into the dining room where I continued to...

This was a return visit and Marion greeted us like old friends. We love the comfortable bed and the little touches that are added to make it special. Breakfasts were as delicious as we remembered. Marion and Iain have to be the best hosts ever. If you are on Lewis this is definitely the place to stay. It isn't trendy,...

Marion and Iain were by far our best hosts in the outer hebrides. Despite arriving much later than expected after a very long days cycling they provided us with a lovely 3 course dinner, a very clean and comfortable room and hot bath (including bubbles). Breakfast was also great.

Marion is the best host I've stayed with for a while! The B&B was relatively easy to find, even in the dark, thanks to Marion's helpful directions. Room was comfortable, cute touches of extra heater already making it cosy because she felt the evening was abit chilly. Ensuite was as needed, little shower gels and moisturisers were a lovely touch....

A very comfortable and friendly B&B. Lots of thoughtful touches including a small fridge and bubble bath. It was just what we needed after a long day's cycling. Our hosts Iain and Marion were very friendly and welcoming and insisted on giving us a lift to the hotel three miles away for our evening meal. An excellent breakfast too.

This place is certainly in a rural location, but thats probably most places on this island apart from Stornoway etc. Easy to find as its on the main road through the island and at the end of the 3 mile village ! Greeted by Iain who showed us around and to our room, which was clean and nicely decorated and...

The best breakfasts we had in our stay in Scotland - Marion is an excellent cook, as well as friendly and helpful to her guests. The location is convenient for car touring of Lewis and Harris, being on the main road between Tarbert and Stornaway. This is a well run B&B, with a large comfortable lounge for socializing in the...
