The Brekkeseter stands on the site of an old farming community and consists of the main hotel building along with a series of cabins of varying sizes spread around the surrounding area. We stayed in the hotel section which houses a number of communal sitting rooms, the dining room and about eight sleeping rooms. The sleeping rooms are simple and... More

Stayed 3 nights at Brekkeseter. A beautiful hotel high up in the Rondane mountains. The hotel offers a step back in time, and a comfortable experience for those who love nature. Our party rented three cottages and two hotel rooms. The cottages (Rundtomstua, Østerdalsstua and Bamsebu) were all beautiful, cozy, clean and individually decorated. Surroundings and views are mind-blowingly beautiful.... More

Four nights in Rundtomstua cottage. A cozy cottage with a fireplace for cool evenings. Wonderful smörgåsbord breakfasts, delicious dinners in a lovely dining room, as well as a fully stocked kitchen in the cottage for preparing our own meals. Fantastic hikes right out the back gate with wonderful bird and plant life. Ever-changing light on mountains, far and near. Read... More

We spent two nights in the hotel. The first night we stayed in small cozy cabin with fireplace and typical "grass roof". The other night we slept in hotel room. The room was big and very clean. The food was excellent. The hotel owner Bjorn knows a lot about the surrounding mountains and gave us several very good advises for... More

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Brekkeseter. Our family stayed at the Osterdalsstua cabin. It was a cozy, well-maintained cabin, with adequate heating and heated bathroom floor tiles. Everything inside the cabin was clean and in working condition. We made good use of the fireplace every night and roasted marshmallows. My son said he felt like he... More

During our 3 night stay we were in the Bamsebu Hytter. It's an attractive Hytter that offers enough place and comfort for 4-6 persons. Only a dishwasser was missing, and some additional cooling pots would be nice. The fabulous location of the hotel however compensates easiy for these small inconveniences.

Good beds for calm nights. Excellent norwegian food prepared and served in a nice dining-room. The owners (Kari and Björn) do their best to take care of you. And while you have your breakfast, you can prepare your lunch-box before starting the randonnée on the top of Norway. Takk for oss; vi hadde et flott opphold. Hàper at vi kan... More

We spent two nights here after having walked Romsdalseggen. We needed a place where we could relax, but with possibilities for activities if needed. Brekkeseter have everything nearby and is situated above the “tree boarder”, with a beautiful view, all the way to Glittertind in Trollheimen. The horses walking by, the old buildings, the well maintained lawns and exterior gives a... We stayed here for 5 nights and would highly recommend it. Brekkeseter is set in a beautiful area on the edge of the Rondane National Park with walks from your front door. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Brekkeseter is originally a mountain farm from the middel ages. The older original farm building is from 1772. However, Brekkeseter consists of many very old logcabins that are originally raised at Brekkeseter or set up during the last 15 years. These are farmhouses, barns and stabells all transformed into nice, cosy units for self catering. They are fully equipped with kitchen, bathrooms, sleepingrooms, living rooms all with open fireplaces for compfort and heat. At the small hotell it is possible to enjoy a better meal along with a good selection of wine. The place invites you to relax after a trip in Rondane National park. You may hike, bike, ride, look for rare birds or go fishing in creeks, rivers and lakes. All activities are nature based. ... more   less
