This really is a lovely hotel and fabulous location for #5 on a 16 day euro roadtrip. Parking was easy in the lay by just by the pedestrian crossing lights. Rooms were really nice, and service was excellent. We had a lovely meal and gorgeous wine finished off sitting on the roof terrace viewing the lit up castle at night....

We stayed at this lovely hotel beginning of August only for one night as we were traveling to Tuscany with two kids. We had a Deluxe room which had an amazing view of the castle. The Ad Gallias is a lovely hotel in tiny Bard, which is one of the most beautiful castles I have seen--where the Italians managed to hold off Napoleon. The Ad Gallias has a lovely staff: Giovanni and Jean Luc are particularily great. The restaurant has lovely food, the best in town and the rooms with balconies, the suites with views...

Thank you everyone who has reviewed this hotel before - they were right a fantastic boutique hotel. It does not look promising from the outside (by the main road) but inside it has been imaginatively restored. The hotel is right by the fort. There is parking next to the road (free - in a lay-by by bus stop), in Hone...

Slightly unprepossessing from the outside, but this lovely little hotel, run by excellent staff, is well worth stopping at. The interior of the building has been architect designed to make the most of the rock walls, with a glass lift in the centre, and clever lighting. My room had a superb bathroom with a huge walk-in shower (perfect after a...

This place wasn't easy to find, and it didn't look much from the outside, but what a place ! It sits on the edge of the road clinging to the mountain side. The bedrooms are beautiful, even the lift is engineered into the mountain side. Right on the top there's a room your party can book for dinner with a...

“Ask for a room with a view of the the street to ensure you can enjoy the beautiful mountains outside. Traffic is not an issue.”

“The hotel has 2 separate buildings. We stayed on the 3rd floor of the main building (the blue one and not the one above the spa) where both the reception area and the dining room are located. While Bard is not a spot which goes until the wee hours of the night, a quieter option would definitely be that building off of the main drag through the village. Rooms on the 3rd floor have ceilings reaching up under the eaves to the roof, and there are also rooms available facing the rocky hillside to which the structure is closely configured”
