We really enjoyed our 4night stay in JUFA Altausee. Thanks to the friendly staff we felt like at home. Food was tasty, rooms clean, wellness area well maintained. All of that surrounder by nature. The location of hostel is inviting for various trips - eg. Loser which is literally behind the corner.

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, we had to drive through a forest to get there (although we then found an alternative way when we left). We arrived pretty ‘late’ for Austrian standards: 9 pm. As the place is pretty isolated, I thought it would have a restaurant of some kind open but sadly nothing was available. The room is very clean but super basic. The staff not particularly brilliant, just average. Next to the hotel there is a salt mine which opens at 9 am, worth a visit.

Dear Ms Christina, We are sorry that they made a random walk through the forest Our hotel is about 5 km away from the village Altaussee. To be on the right road, we have several signs for JUFA Hotel attached to the road. The evening buffet we offer in the summer from 18 - 20 clock, alternative, there are small snacks until 23 clock in the cafe area. We always strive for the well-being of our guests. We would be glad if we could convince you on your next visit of the opposite. Greetings from Altaussee JUFA Team Altaussee

We often stay in this area - especially in Bad Ischl. We are sick and tired of grubby, dark hotel rooms, high prices and getting a rough deal on the whole - AND THEN WE FOUND THIS PLACE ! Absolutely brilliant. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds, excellent food, nice rooms . very simple but really good. Ideal for families, retired people - anybody in fact. Really well run by people who clearly know how to run a hotel. We live in the Steiermark where most of their hotels are located. They will be seeing us a lot more frequently in future.

The JUFA Hotel Altaussee is clean, the staff is quite nice (though not strong on English), and offer laundry services for less than 6 EUR. Now, about the location: you have to drive through Altaussee, then exit the village, drive through the forest, and then you arrive after you see a bunch of deers and foxes. It's located next to the salt mine. You HAVE to climb up the stairs in order to enter the lobby and the hotel in general!

We were here only one night, but very satisfied. Great view to Loser mountain, where you can also drive along the mountain road. The hotel is clean, beds comfortable and personality friendly. Breakfast offers enough variety of dishes (excellent bread). Wi-fi is not accessible in rooms. All Dachstein mountains area is beautiful and worth a visit.
