It is not often you find somewhere that's beauty leaves you speechless but tucked away in the Umbrian hills is Prato Di Sotto and this does not disappoint. Lovingly created by the owner over 23 years, wonderful gardens on many levels surround the farmhouses that have views of the magical Umbrian hills. Our farmhouse was not only spacious but lovingly...

Prato di Sotto is hidden way up a dusty mountain road in Northern Umbria where, on arrival, your journey is rewarded with total peace and relaxation. The combination of garden, gorgeous pool and beautifully planned and decorated accomodation makes you immediately unwind. It is the perfect base for discovering some of the best early Renaissance art in the world in...

The 15 minute winding drive along the gravel road that takes you up the wooded hillside is full of expectation. You are not disappointed. Prato di Sotto is nestled into the hillside on three levels. Its scented paths, gardens and patios encompass the buildings and extend to breathtaking views and vistas over the surrounding countryside. Welcome exudes from the walls...

Fabulous place to visit, so fabulous we have been visiting every year since 2000 and usually twice a year. Penny is a great host and we now consider her a very good friend. We count down the days between visits and have stayed in all the various accommodation Penny has to offer and love every one of them. Thoroughly recommended.

Penny has created an oasis of peace and calm in the beautiful Umbrian hills, and is a great host and source of local information. Prato di Sotto proved to be a great base from which to explore the lovely towns, villages and countryside of Umbria...and was...

Prato di Sotto is the most amazing oasis in the beautiful Umbrian hills. There are so many reasons why we love it: stunning views, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decorated houses, most welcoming host Penny (always there if you need something, but never intrusive) and the home away from home feeling she is able to create. And these are really only few...

Our stay at Prato di Sotto was so utterly lovely - I really couldn't thank Penny enough for all she did to make it a fantastic holiday for our (adult) family. Perhaps most astonishingly, EVERYONE in the family liked it, something that has never been known in several decades of family history. My brother's reaction on arrival was 'why didn't...

We spent a wonderful week here in July with 16 of my family and it couldn't have been better. The whole place is beautifully designed and decorated and you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Fantastic views, an amazing swimming pool, comfy beds and the loveliest host. Penny made us feel so welcome and so did her dogs...

A group of 7 of us stayed in the big house, and were so sad to leave we're already wondering how soon we can return. It's a stunningly beautiful location. And the house was wonderful - without doubt the best equipped holiday place I've stayed in, with great views and loads of space. We loved our meals round the big...
