My husband and I spent one night here to celebrate our 48th Wedding Anniversary. The facilities were lovely in our private room with its own onsen-style bath. We asked for a room with beds instead of “futon” and were very comfortable. The amenities (in the bath area) were generous. The evening meal was outstanding.

Can’t go wrong with this choice. Spacious deluxe rooms with views of Lake Kawaguchi and Fuji mountain from your balcony and private onsen. Two dinners and two breakfasts were both excellent (quality, quantity and variety) for adults and kids alike, certainly meeting the high expectations I have for a resort of this caliber. Complementary use of full body massage chairs a nice perk!

This is my favorite hotel in the world. My husband and I first stayed here for one night in Aug 2015 for our first couples vacation. It is was the highlight of our entire trip to Japan. We returned in Nov 2019 for our honeymoon and spent 2 nights in the hotel. Our room had western beds but also areas you can sleep on the floor if you prefer. The outdoor bath on the balcony overlooking Mt Fuji was amazing. Dinner is delicious and an awesome experience. It seems most people only stay one night at the hotel as basically the facilities shut down between check out and check in. I'd probably recommend just staying one night.

Kozantei Ubuya is the best hotel we have ever stayed in our life with private hot spring. The transportation is convenient because there is a bus stop named after the hotel for the public bus and there’s also free shuttle from the hotel to train station. The decor is elegant, classy and in authentic Japanese style. Everyone would be served by an Okami (personal server) from check in, room tour to dining. Our room was 503, located in Building B which has the greatest view with a price of $800/night, including dinner and breakfast. It’s totally worth the extremely high price. There was a huge window with both Fuji mountain & Lake Kawaguchiko inside the room and there’s also a wide spaced living room in our room. One of our goals to stay in Ubuya is to enjoy the reflection of Fuji mountain 逆さ富士 in the early morning between 5-6am without going out and suffering in the freezing weather. Their dinner and breakfast were also delicate and delicious. We had 2 sets of Wagyu shabu-shabu for dinner and grilled salmon for breakfast. The ambiance of Ubuya was cozy, slow-paced and romantic. My husband & I celebrated our honeymoon, stayed in the hotel from check in to check out and felt really relaxed after our stay. We will definitely come back in the future for another celebration!

Totally irresponsible hotel management as they do not allow me to postpone my stay even the reason I wanted to postpone is due to covid-19 outbreak in Japan! They still wanted to charge 50% fees and not flexible at all in this epidemic situation. Hotel personnel do not speak English and totally unhelpful! Very disappointing and not really the way 5 stars hotel handle their customers!
