This place is incredible. Staff were very rh friendly, welcoming and helpful. Stunning setting looking over the lake Kawaguchiko. Calm serene corridors. Beautiful traditional rooms with futon on tatayama mats with large window views. Private onsen good value for money and public onsen also had beautiful views. All very clean. Toiletries really lovely. The Yukata we were loaned to wear were beautiful and so comfy. Finally, the set meals are 100% worth including. Absolutely stunning array of traditional Japanese cuisine over 7+ courses. We were very contented and very relaxed staying here - so much so we stayed another night last minute.

We were lucky to be given a room that gave us a fantastic view when we woke up in the morning. We could see Lake Kawaguchi and it was a lovely sight. Like what other reviewers have mentioned, there is a steep slope leading up. For tourists with elderly or young children, it would be better to inform the hotel staff earlier and arrange a pick up. There is a cable car tourist attraction just next to the hotel but it was under maintenance when we were there. The check in was quick and a staff showed us our way to the room and also the available amenities in the hotel. The lobby was pretty and we saw many guests sitting there and looking out at the gorgeous view. There is also a complimentary coffee and tea corner for hotel guests. Breakfast was included in the booking and the staff were very helpful to customise it to ensure there’s no meat in it as my friend does not take meat. Timing slots for breakfast were given and guests are to choose their preferred slot, one day before. A few of their staff were not very fluent in English. We wanted to hang out in the lobby from 2.30pm till 3.30pm and have the shuttle bus to send us to the station as our bus to Tokyo was at 4.30pm. However, the staff told us that we were not allowed to, since we’ve checked out. We were advised to leave the hotel and come back at 3.30pm instead. We felt a little disappointed as we set aside time, wanting to sit at the lobby to enjoy the view. So we decided to carry our luggage and went down the slope. Apart from that, all was good.

This hotel is just beautiful, with stunning views as soon as you walk into the impeccably designed lobby area. They offer a shuttle service to and from the hotel during certain hours but the taxi from the station is quite cheap anyway. The rooms are huge and we both had a really great night's sleep, the futons were very comfortable after our tiny room in Tokyo and we left the curtains open all night to soak in the lovely views! It would be a challenge for people who are less able in terms of mobility as there's a steep climb to get to the hotel from the town, but it was fine for us. The staff were lovely and make a fantastic negroni! It was our honeymoon and they left us a cute present in the room and also one young man chased us out of the hotel to give us a drinks voucher, which was very kind! The bar doesn't open until about 8pm though, but that was ok, we went out. Might be a problem if you don't want to make the climb! I thought I had booked the dinner but hadn't, so would recommend double checking if you don't want to go out for food, however there are some excellent options in the town only a short walk away. We took advantage of the private onsen, which was a wonderful experience. The only thing which wasn't perfect was the next morning, my husband ran a bath for me and I got in only to find that I was surrounded by pubes... I think they must have neglected to clean the bath out thoroughly before giving us our room... but aside from that it was great!

This place is lovely. Got picked up from the train station . Check what times they offer this free shuttle. The location is great ... right next to the cable car and the lake with the water sports ( boats etc) the staff are so friendly and always willing to help with a smile. The rooms are traditional Japanese - bamboo floors ... hotel needs a bit of updating but that’s okay you’re in an older area - it’s clean and spacious and the views are gorgeous.

After weighing through every possible options, this is the best place to stay if you want a good location (walking distance from bus stops and places to eat), with a generous sized room and awesome view. Their customer service is impeccable. they also have a very nice trail that leads to a perfect mt fuji view that somehow they don’t advertise enough. only one small catch is that you need to walk a relatively steep slope if you wanna walk down for food. we took it as a good short exercise (5min)
