The ryokan is highly recommended. The location on the hillside overlooking Lake Kawaguchiko and right next to the cable car is excellent (you can drive up to Kawaguchiko Tenjoyama Park right in front of the tourist crowds in the morning). The room (Japanese style with lounge access) was the most beautiful and largest we had on our trip to Japan: fantastic views and private Onzen bathroom. The public bathing and oncension area overlooking Kawaguchiko Lake was sensational. The ryokan offers coffee and cakes (3-17h) and "snacks incl. alcoholic beverages" (7-9h) in the "lounge area". A great concept, we used it as dinner, it was more than sufficient, varied and the dining area very cozy. There was no reason to eat outside. The only drawback: the hotel is a bit old and you have no view of Fuji. However, this does not in any way reduce the overall assessment. Fuji can be admired (Googled) very well about 15 minutes on foot (left of the hotel the paved path and then at the turn up the forest path) in a small park, if it shows up. Overall, the ryokan is 100% recommended.

Booked this ryokan purely based on pictures online. The entire experience definitely did not disappoint.

Managed to try two different rooms, 1 with private onsen and another lead in room. The upgrade for the rooms with private onsen are definitely worth it as they are newer and much larger rooms.

There is free coffee and tea in the lobby. Breakfast changes daily and is of high quality. Dinner was also amazing and a wonderful experience.

Location wise, it is up a very steep hill and not suitable to walk up with luggages. The hotel does provide pick up service from the train station at certain timings.

Perched on a slope overlooking the lake Kawaguchiko, this resort offered magnificent view and away from the bustling city centre but yet not too far.

Pick up drop off service at the train station was a plus point and the room had its own onsen with a fantastic view.

We opted for full board, the kaiseki dinner was delicately displayed and authentic. Breakfast was a delight too.

The resort provides beauty care amenities and one can enjoy their open air as well as the in resort onsen.

There’s a hiking trail and a shrine nearby

Rakuyu was a very good choice! The rooms are beautiful and the staff is kind. We enjoyed the onsen experience and the amazing views of Lake Kawaguchiko. The hotel is not far away from the Kawaguchiko station so you have the best of a great location and services around. Highly recommend it!

My wife and I are fortunate that we travel extensively and generally stay in 5 star accommodation , consequently we were not expecting anything wonderful . The hotel frontage is fairly shabby but the reception is very pleasant ,.Checkin and out was very efficient and friendly as was baggage handling all the staff spoke excellent English which is unusual in Japan . The room was quite basic but had a magnificent view of the lake .sleep quality was good but bed is a Japanese style bad I.e. very low to the floor. Bathroom was antiquated but functional with good water pressure. There is a complementary meals option which is average from all points a f view . There is complimentary parking . In short the hotel is more than good enough for one or two nights.

This superb Inn offers an absolutely exceptional experience, enhanced by breathtaking views. We had the chance to stay in a beautiful Japanese-style room, with an elegant lounge and a private Onsen, a real luxury to enjoy in privacy.

The services offered are simply incomparable: between relaxing moments like “TEE Time” and “Aperitif Time”, everything is included and carefully orchestrated to offer a most pleasant stay.

As for the staff, they are simply blameless. Their attention to detail and their desire to satisfy every need of the customers are executed with perfect control. This Pension is a real gem where everything is thought out to offer a perfect experience. An absolute flawless!

We were greeted by the stunning views of the lake the moment we stepped into the hotel lobby. The room was lovely as well, with a similarly beautiful view of the lake. Thankfully, we were placed on the same floor as the lobby, as the hotel did not seem to have any lifts.

We opted for both dinner and breakfast to be included in the plan, and they were a delectable spread. However, I would note that the service during mealtimes seemed to be more curt, and the servers seemed to be in a hurry to serve the courses, and did not really explain to us what we were having. The food, however, was without a fault.

As the hotel is set on a rather steep hill, it would be better to contact the hotel for them to pick you up from the station or to send you to the station. Do note that the shuttle service does not run between 11am and 2pm though.

Overall, a good option for a traditional stay in the Kawaguchiko area.

The entrance, a very steep narrow slope, is very difficult to find and climb by car, requires some expertise. Let's go, good effort. Of course, when you arrive it is worth it. Exquisite service, wonderful views of the lake, FREE tea and dinner time and a good onsen, being highly recommended the option of private Onsen for couples and thus be together. Spacious rooms with lake views and free parking. Shuttle service to the station and buffet breakfast. Good choice.

This place is incredible. Staff were very rh friendly, welcoming and helpful. Stunning setting looking over the lake Kawaguchiko. Calm serene corridors. Beautiful traditional rooms with futon on tatayama mats with large window views. Private onsen good value for money and public onsen also had beautiful views. All very clean. Toiletries really lovely. The Yukata we were loaned to wear were beautiful and so comfy. Finally, the set meals are 100% worth including. Absolutely stunning array of traditional Japanese cuisine over 7+ courses. We were very contented and very relaxed staying here - so much so we stayed another night last minute.

The place is located immediately adjacent to the entry point for the Mount Fuji ropeway which gives you a panoramic view of the mountain. We preferred the view from the lake which is closer. Catch the bus outside of the hotel to the last bus stop which takes about 15 minutes, from here the views are great and a further 15 minute walk to the Maple corridor, the views get even better. We did a review of Toki Yuyu Rakuyu which goes into a bit more detail.

Hmmmmm.... no real idea - Suggest u email them. They do charge guests for a 1 hr session - 45min, plus 15mins for them to clean up. If not booked then maybe? There will b popular times for guests e.g. b4 dinner and late afternoons.
