location is lovely which made it all the more disappointing - uncomfortable bed, no hairdryer in room as advertised, shower in bathroom was totally inadequate - cold water in the afternoon when I arrived after a hot and sticky journey and the following morning - hot but merely a trickle of water. Breakfast was a disaster - no homemade bread...

My husband and I and our dog spent the bank holiday weekend at Crockshard and had a good time. Finding welcoming places with pooch isn't easy but we were all, pooch included, made to feel very welcome. The house and our room were clean. The bed linen and towels were clean and the bed was comfy. We had to leave at...

We have just stayed at Crockshard and had a good time. Everywhere was clean, bed linen and towels were clean. Bed was comfy had a goods night sleep. Breakfast was lovely and well cooked. If you choose to stay at a farmhouse you should accept that the facilities arent going to be the same as a top class hotel. The...

On reading the reviews on this awful B & B we entirely agree with all that was said. Do not under any circumstances visit this diabolic place. We were shocked and appalled at the standard of hygiene, care, service and bathroom facilities. How this place is allowed to function as a B&B we have no idea. Where are the authorities?...

My Husband, 2 small children, puppy and I stayed here for 2 nights over the August bank holiday. We now know why it was the only place that could accommodate us at the last minute. Having only got our dog 6 weeks ago, we were not accustomed to travelling with a pet and therefore unaware of the standard of accommodation...

Beautiful location, quaint old farmhouse. There were 9 of us for a family visit to kent. The worst part of the whole experience was sharing one bathroom between 9 of us, and on the second night there were 5 more guests which meant there were 14 people queing to use the bathroom. There is an en suite neither offered or seen. The breakfasts were...

We'd booked into this B&B for a special family get-together having traced our ancestors to a church in a nearby village. We booked three double rooms and a family room - the website showed a beautiful farmhouse and we were all looking forward to this. We are all animal lovers with our own pets at home, and all happy to...

very attractive internet site does not reflect the reality. We had touble finding the place as we searched for the chalk sign(that doesn't exist) indicating the farm shop as directed on their site 'find us'. No prior mention that the bathroom is shared by at least 2 or 3 other couples. The room was not very clean. If i do...

Let me say I feel somewhat stingy about the "3 point review", because the reception and the setting are just fine. Also given the weekend that I went (British Open Golf Tournament), and Nikki did not fleece her clients by inflating prices. The breakfast was always freshly prepared in front of us, and there was a fine selection of home...

“Couldn't give a tip for choosing a good room - see my comments above. The French system about inspecting a room before choosing would be best applied here.”

“We stayed in a great room decorated with collected travelling artefacts and ancient furniture. i liked it a lot. The room could sleep five with a double bed, 2 singles and a z-bed. Mine was very soft and comfortable. Shared bathroom but even that was quaint and interesting.”
  • A cosy bedroom with carved elephants on the ancient beams.
