Booked into this motel for 4 nights as a last minute thing after the accommodation we had originally booked (Karamea Holiday Cottage) turned out to be damp and not particularly clean. This place in contrast was immaculate, extremely spacious (we stayed in a one bedroom unit), and very secluded. Units are semi detached but planned so each is screened from...

On the far north-west coast of the South Island of New Zealand is the rather isolated small town of Karamea, in beautiful country, and gateway to the Oparara Basin, an area of incredible natural beauty only about 25 km to the North of town. The motels are only 500 metres from the centre of town, with its few shops, but...

Stayed three nights and absolutely loved the nature and peacefulness of Karamea. We had a one bedroom unit which was spotless and well-equipped. We actually only kept our luggage in the bedroom 'cos the lounge had a double bed, nicer views, the TV, and we just had just lots of space. This motel is just outside (before entering) Karamea village,...

We stayed in a spacious one bed suite. Tiny fridge, microwave oven and kettle. Lovely sunny patio. Fields next door but no view of the river. Short walk to Karamea resort for dinner. Long walk to the historic Karemea Hotel, which is the other restaurant in town. Karamea is a fabulous place to get away from it all with many...

Spotlessly clean, spacious unit. Excellent service. Thoroughly recommend. Handy to township of Karamea. Slightly over an hours drive north of Westport. Friendly, helpful host. Many outdoor activities in this locality.

There are just a few bungalows at the Karamea River Motel, each bungalow divided into semi-detached suites, in a rural setting with well-maintained gardens. The interior of our suite was spacious. We enjoyed the natural light flooding in through the picture windows in the living area. Several cows in the surrounding field, enjoyed looking in at us! Our suite was...

Having some time on our side, we decided to head to Karamea . Its about 1 hour 20 min from Westport, and a lovely drive at that. Pleasant destination and not millions of people. Heaps to see in the area so book it in before everyone finds out. The Karamea River Motel was very nice. Arriving late was not an...

We stayed at the motel which is a 10 minute walk to town. We stayed in a studio unit. We were on a motorbike trip and the owner offered us the use of his 6 month old ford ranger! Wow what hospitality. The unit was clean and tidy and quite roomy. Also well appointed and comfortable. Great price also. Cheers

This motel provided us with the most restful, quiet and peaceful 4 days we had experienced for a whole year. The owner host was generous and friendly and with an upgrade and the arrival of 2 whitebait fritters he had cooked for us, just demonstrated true South Island hospitality. The one bedroom apartment was roomy and had everything we wanted...
