The hotel is in a valley outside Chamarel with lodges around the central buildings, going up as far as the ridgeline overlooking the coast. We stayed in a garden pool suite, which was secluded from the other rooms, with enclosed outdoor shower, terrace with seating and small pool. The food was very good, with excellent service. All the staff worked...

This is the most beautiful, relaxing hotel we ever stayed. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! We had the garden suite right at the pond with our own swimming pool and an outdoor shower, with the frogs and the birds singing all day! The food was excellent and the view into the jungle was breathtaking. I would go back there...

This hotel was recommended to us, however, I had been reviewing it too. What a find - most visitors to Mauritius tend to flock to The North Coast to stay on a beach, which is what we did for the second part of our holiday, but I am so pleased we visiting here first. The Hotel was a real retreat,...

This was our first, and probably only visit to Mauritius, to attend our daughter’s wedding, and we took the opportunity to see as much of the island as we could. As long-time frequent travellers, both for business and pleasure, we are a little sceptical of idealised websites, and glowing Trip Advisor reviews, and are used to reality crashing in once...

We stayed at Lakaz Chamarel for the first 4 nights of our 2 week honeymoon in Mauritius. We were recommended it by our travel agent as a great place to chill out straight after the wedding, and we're so glad we decided to stay here! It's the most relaxing hotel we've ever stayed at. We had a Garden Pool Suite,...

We spent 5 days relaxing at Lakaz. It is hidden away from traffic and other disturbances in a large quiet, landscaped garden, populated with a wide variety of trees and shrubs, sculptures and features. The wildlife was all around, which we really enjoyed: bulbuls, fodys, village weavers, fruit bats, frogs, land snails and of course geckos. The room was a...

We started our Maurician holiday here to be followed by the Prince Maurice (separate review), a bit of a chalk and cheese experience I must say! To choose the Lakaz is to relish nature and peace and quiet without frills and fancy stuff but with charming personal service. If you want a resort this is definitely not your style. There...

We spent three nights at this relaxing and luxurious lodge. We had an outdoor shower and our own mini pool set in the lush foliage of the Chamarel mountains. Our room had features that I wanted to take home such as the sink hewn from granite. The food was spectacular and the honey rum!!!! A must-try. It's also worth visiting...

We booked a Standard room and got an upgrade to a Superior room which was really very nice. The garden is beautiful and also the small pool area. The food is good, although we were missing some more salads and vegetables. The breakfast is buffet and we could say that it was the best on the island we have had....
