In comparing campgrounds along the Alcan, this camping area is a treasure. New owners have done a lot to renovate this original 1942 staging area from the building of the Alaska Highway. Our camp site was pull through with lots of shade trees (Thank you!)....More

We'd stopped by on our way to Whitehorse, for some Cinnamon buns (best in the Yukon!) and made a reservation for our way back. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and the staff were friendly, What more can you ask?
Great hospitality! Great food! Affordable! This is the second year I have stayed at Johnson's Crossing with Sandy and Frank and I will be back again next year. It is like staying with family. In fact, they are even nicer than my family.

I was a visitor last August. You will find a nice campground in a wooded setting near the river. I doubt there is a problem accommodating your group but I would strongly advise to make reservations as it can be very busy in the summer. Pull through sites, full hookups, showers, laundry and dog run. There is also a restaurant with home cooked food and famous cinnamon buns, WiFi, motel, bakery, gift shop, gas/diesel available and of course fishing. The people I dealt with were very nice. For your convenience, here is their phone number: (867) 390-2607. I do not know their winter hours, but they are open all year.
