Disclaimer, we only used the restaurant/terasse. The ambiance itself and location is great. At the back of a formerly majestic hotel, you find terraces at different levels, allowing guests to feel as if they have their private areas. It is very green, and peaceful. However, during our two visits, something caught our attention. The waiters need some serious education and... More

Very nice place to eat at the back in the garden , the food was alright but the dessert amazing , papanasi are the best I had in years with creme fraiche and jam. The service is better then other places.

Enjoyed a bottle of wine in the lovely garden behind the hotel, surrounded by the absolute beauty of the local nature...We did not stay in the hotel as such, but it looks quite attractive indeed, by comparison. Unfortunately this beautiful Romanian resort is in a state of unpardonable neglect at the moment...

The resort Baile Herculane is very depressing place.Hotel Ferdinand is not an exception,I think the last renovation was long time before, maybe last century. Included the menu is at least 20 years old .I will never come back !

End of April 2016 was the last time we went to Hotel Ferdinand (before we were there for 2-3 times). The accommodation is worse than ever: windows damaged, so you can hear the noise and wind all night long; bathroom is full of dirt and smell like hell and the room was very cold. They started the heating system only... More

Mostly disappointed in the overall service of this hotel, old furniture, smelly bathroom, rusty battery in the bathroom, old and noisy heating appliance. Poor customer service at the reception and restaurant, people are generally open and willing to help, but not very professional in attitude and mostly surprised at normal requests, such as extra socket (there was none available), honey... We enjoyed every moment. Good food, excelent spa center, beautiful summer garden. Our room was big enough taking into consideration that the hotel is a historical building. Ferdinand Hotel is located next to Hercules statue, quite area. For sure, we'll come back next year.

I came in Herculane in a small holiday in june . The landscape is magnificent . In the resort the area where the hotel is located is like a history book . Old buildings witch wait to be renovated in square guarded by the mountains . The hotel is one of this buildings wich is already renovated . Inside a... More

This hotel is in the old part of town but not far from the newer, bigger hotels. Most of the existing hotels in this city were old communist reward sites, but many are renovated. The setting is wonderful - the back garden with a waterfall is rustic and beautiful/ The river is right in front. the food was good and... More

We only spent one night in this hotel but it was an agreable experience. Located in an historically renovated buiding, it has a very beautiful garden in the back where we have enjoyed a good dinner. We had the appartment, which was very big, all the bathroom features were new and the rooms were cosy and confortable. The breakfast was... More
