A new proposal of hospitality for people who knows how to recognize the signs of history and art To explore new routes in the Italian cultural heritage and landscape. For a different way of doing tourism all year around. Built in 1700 as a farmhouse and then transformed in the early 1900s into a country residence, located in a hilly landscape typically Mediterranean, with a very pleasant climate all year round, the villa is surrounded by pine trees, olive trees and vineyards (more than 70 hectares with biodynamic). The site, at the center of one of the most fascinating areas for art, culture and landscape of Puglia, it can also be an ideal starting point to discover the extraordinary natural habitat of the Murgia, Gargano and nearby historic sights: Canosa, Castel del Monte, the other castles Norman-Swabian, Barletta, Trani, Bari, the Romanesque cathedrals, archaeological sites, museums and art galleries, trulli, fortified farms. A 20 km from the sea, with the salt pans of Margherita di Savoia and the protected wetlands where you can still find herons and flamingos. We offer accommodation in bed and breakfast with all comforts, conditioned air, private bathroom, mini fridge, breakfast included, pool and internet wi-fi.

We stayed at Cefalicchio for a night on our way from Matera to Fano and absolutely loved it. The old house is beautiful. The rooms are rustic and atmospheric. There is a gorgeous pool. We had an interesting wine tasting and a really good dinner.

We were delighted by the gorgeous structure surrounded by acres of vineyards and olive trees perfect for relaxed rambles. Management was welcoming and helpful in trying to solve our dinner issue on a Sunday night. (We finally got pizza.) Breakfast was very good (although there seems to be a different standard for milk freshness), with a decent strong cup of cappuccino. The location provided a good base for Castel del Monte and Trani. Apparently all the rooms are of a good size except one, which is very tiny and low-ceilinged and lacks windows. Naturally that's the one we got! But an issue with the lock meant that we were moved for one of our two nights to a much larger apartment at no extra charge. We were very happy with the upgrade and only wished we had known that there was such a marked differential in room quality. Perhaps management could add pictures of the rooms to the website.

Set in the middle of vineyards and olive groves, the former farmhouse which became an elegant villa in the XIX c , offers an idyllic setting for a relaxed and special stay. Our room was large and airy and certainly kept the freshness thanks to the vaulted ceilings and the wooden shutters. Salvatore is an attentive host and Elena who deals with breakfast, makes wonderful light Italian cakes. I loved the fresh mint tea leaves picked from the garden just a few minutes before being brewed, the chocolate and coffee cakes. We had the pool to ourselves which felt very privileged. The gardens are full of aromatic plants, lavender, wisteria, white and pink oleander, beautiful grown trees. Of course some things could be improved but over all, the place feels right and welcoming. We wish we could have visited the wine cellars but unfortunately it was the time for bottling so it was not possible. We were slightly disappointed with the restaurant situated on the grounds of the Agriturismo but apparently under separate management and found food in Puglia was not as light as in Northern Italy and even at times on the heavy side. Service is efficient but food lacked subtlety and brio. On the whole, we missed being able to eat vegetables and fish. The sea is only 25km away but most restaurants serve mainly meats.

We were the only guests staying at B&B Caphalicchio and we felt very conspicuous. The staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfast both mornings was a delight with home cooked bread and treats to start the day. The room was vast and easily accommodated two male friends traveling together. I scored the single bed which was very comfortable and apparently the double bed was also very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit of a squeeze and the shower head not fitting, but that was forgivable in the grand scheme. Would happily stay there again.

Beautiful and tranquil location, stunning Manor House. Lovely to have a winery on site with the B&B. Excellent restaurant. We really enjoyed our 4 nights at Cefalicchio, the staff are lovely, the room was very clean and characterful, and the breakfast was delicious. The main down side for us was the shower, it had no water pressure whatsoever so was difficult to wash hair and clean oneself. With a 4* accommodation rating we would expect a much better shower. The pool was also heavily chlorinated so a decent shower was all the more important! Additionally wine glasses in the rooms would be good. Despite this, a very enjoyable stay.
