Mama's by the sea is a cozy Bed & Breakfast, Located on Cape Sable Island, Follow Route 330 across the causeway and you are in the birthplace of the world renowned Cape Islander- those brightly colored fishing boats you see at wharves, bays and harbours dotting the coast. Seafood, including lobster is always on the menu. Here too, is one the best birding sites in Nova Scotia and a designated Important Bird Area. Miles of white sand beaches offer you great vistas of the ocean. Wiggle your toes in the sand, fly a kite, stroll the beaches, listen to the pounding surf. This is where the Bay of Fundy meets the Atlantic Ocean. The tallest lighthouse in Nova Scotia- the Cape Sable Light at 101 ft. tall is viewed best from the most southerly point – The Hawk. Enjoy the 28 miles of white sand beaches – take a picnic, listen to the gulls, watch the many species of shorebirds and just relax.
Room and bed was quiet and comfortable, and Kim was an incredible host. If you get the opportunity, make sure you get the lobster boil! Fantastic addition to a great stay. If you are in the Lobster capital of Canada you should take advantage!

My wife and I stayed here for one night during our recent drive around the southern shore. Kim's place is in a fantastic location, close to Hawk Beach. Our room was really nice, and the couch in the common area comes complete with a dog to cuddle. We really enjoyed chatting with Kim, and she's a fantastic host! Will definitely stay here again if we're in the area!

We usually do not go to B&Bs. We made an attempt and it was a success. The room was comfortable enough. The only thing that was less to our preference was the shared bathroom, but it turned to be not too bad. But the main pleasure was wonderful Kim the host. WE felt like being at a visit with a loving relative...

Kim's B&B is a hidden gem, quiet, nestled on a seaside property, and Cape Island, Nova Scotia is a place where many people never feel the need to leave. As a photographer I am charmed by quaint fishing villages, colorful boats, friendly locals and of course historic lighthouses on windswept beaches. My last visit was in August 2019 and as always, Kim was a wonderful hostess (she even sent homemade blueberry preserves home with me!) and the room was spotless, comfortable, quiet and easy to find. Venture across the causeway (just a few kilometers) and you're in Barrington Passage, a small coastal town with modern amenities for fuel, groceries, banking and postal needs, plus cute restaurants, a bike trail, and none of the loud chaotic traffic and congestion common to many destinations. Follow the coastal highway/Lighthouse Route and you'll see plenty to pique your interest, and Cape Island is just a few hours from Historic Halifax Harbour or a day's drive from the stunning vistas of Cape Breton's National Highlands. I've been in love with Nova Scotia since I was a child, but it does not have a surplus of travel lodging, so Mama's by the Sea is a welcome accommodation, convenient, affordable, and it comes with a great hostess! I can't say enough good about Nova Scotia or this charming B&B! I'm attaching a few photos to give an idea of the local scenery.…

My wife and I stayed at Mama’s by the Sea BnB in Clark’s Harbour and had a fabulous time. Kim, the hostess, is very friendly and accommodating. The room we had was great...very comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom is shared, but we were the only guests that night so we had it to ourselves. Breakfast was super...bacon, eggs, toast, and hash browns. The coffee was some of the best we’ve had on our holiday of 3 weeks! Kim has a delightful dog, Zoe, a very dramatic Yorkie who loves to show off her trick...get Kim to show you! I can recommend Mama’s by the Sea with no reservations. We will certainly come back if we’re in the area!

We stayed one night at mamas by the sea b&b whilst travelling around NS. What a fabulous find, Kim is a wonderful host and goes the extra mile to make sure you feel welcome and comfortable in her home. She opens up her home to you, and she as a beautiful home. Our daughter especially enjoyed spending time with Zoe the dog. The room was comfortable as our daughter was travelling with us, Kim very kindly put an air bed in the room. Breakfast was really good, eggs, bacon and hash browns. Homemade jams which were delicious. So glad we stayed here.

Don't be put off by the shared bath--not a problem. This was one of our best stays on the southern coast--and we stayed at some pricey B&B's, believe me. Super host Kim made us right at home. We even fell in love with her Yorkie Zoe. Great breakfast--exactly what we asked for on our low carb diets. And lots of beach wandering and birding in this isolated area. One draw back--no restaurants, but the sub we bought at the local grocery store got us through the night. Now we know that next time we eat before we head out the Cape Sable Island.

Kim, the host, is a very kind and warm hearted person who made our stay very pleasant. She organized a wonderful boat trip to Cape Island, gave us a tour to a lobster company and cooked lobsters for us, besides giving us lots of hints what to do and where to go. We would have loved to stay much longer. Everything was very clean and the breakfast absolutely delicious.

Mamas B&B is located in a quiet and peaceful loster town. A perfect spot to watch the sunset at the ocean! The facility is well maintained and everything is in good condition. Mama Kim is a wonderful friendly lady, who makes our stay like home. The breakfast was great and on the morning we depart, she served lobster egg. OMG, that was the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Thank you Kim!
