I received a ConnexService.com voucher from my company for 2 hotel nights for 2 persons. After some search on their web site my wife and I (we are 50+) found Hotel Hochzillertal which is located in the beautiful mountain region Zillertal in Austria offering various recreational possibilities. We don't travel very often, but we have made some experiences in various hotels of various categories during the years. This long weekend turned out to be one of our best hotel stays. In general the hotel had a relaxed atmosphere with polite personnel (we were there mid September 2020, under relatively relaxed Corona virus regulations). The double room we had was not huge, but fine for the category, and the cleanliness was absolutely perfect in every corner and edge, which was a huge plus for us. The double bed was comfortable and a hotel specialty is to offer herbal pillows for testing (this was free, at least for us, but the pillows must be ordered before 15:00, so we couldn't have them on the first night). They were so nice, that we even decided to buy a few upon departure. The breakfast buffet was rich and the service was polite and offered special help considering our food intolerance (milk protein). Also the dinner which we had in the hotel's restaurant "Liebstöckel" (they are specialized in herbs) was very nice, and again they were very helpful in choosing and combining dishes and wines according to our needs and taste. One evening I could also test the Vitality Center with various sauna / steam bath and relax facilities. It was also very nice (unfortunately the opening hours, 15:00-19:00 were a bit limited for me). Last, but not least, the owner provided excellent guidance regarding trekking routes in the region. A clear recommendation!…
This hotel is superb!! Everything is kept very clean (dining area, room, spa area, etc.), the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the location is top notch (500 meters walk to the depot). On our next stay we’ll likely request a room on the top floor as we could hear the people above us. My spouse and I have food allergies (gluten, dairy, red meat) and we are often hesitant to travel because of this. We spent two weeks here at this hotel and not only were they able to cater to our dietary needs the food was delicious and not at all over priced. Thank you to Elke, Michael and Team for the wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again soon. This was the best experience with a hotel we’ve had while on vacation.
We only had dinner here on a Monday evening, when many other restaurants are closed. It was a very good experience overall. Great service, lovely dining room, tastefully decorated in modern style. Free parking nearby. The food was good (though quite pork heavy as is typical for the region). The only downside is finding the place: the satnav will find the venue if you put in their address correctly. Be prepared for narrow roads, tight bends but keep going, it’s worth it! We’ll be back and stay here next year too!
Hotel Hochzillertal is beautifully located on a hillside rising above Kaltenbach. It is very typical for the region - not very big, but with very good service from a hospitable and friendly staff. Big and well equipped rooms and bathrooms, and everything looks clean and well taken care of. The restaurant is, like the rest of the hotel, typical for the region, with a nice menu containing a number of tasteful local dishes. There is free wi-fi, and not only is also the parking free, it is even done in a roomy and securely locked garage where you need the room key to get inside. Very good!
This hotel should be awarded with four stars. We have been here 5 times now. Nice family and staff. Nice breakfast and a four dinner course well made. The selection of Austrian wines are huge. Espicially the white wines are amazing. Many new rooms but also the old rooms are fine and very clean. Nice wellnes area. Only 100 m to the double condol. We'll be back. Br Charlotte & Niels
Stayed here three nights. Room was very nice and staff was really helpful. Walking distance to Hochzillertal station. Breakfast was really good and we had also delicisous half board for one evening. Parking possibility in garage.
We have enjoyed our stay at hotel Hochzillertal. Our room at the 3rd floor was quite nice and clean. It had a balcony and a bathroom with shower. The breakfast had everything we wanted, although better fruit juice would be appreciated. The hotel also had a good restaurant with varied dishes (both fish and meat) and great drinks. The atmosphere in the hotel & restaurant was always nice and the personnel was always friendly and helpful.
This hotel was a bit difficult to find, but was well worth it! Our hotel room was small, but very nice, with a large bathroom and a walk-out balcony. The hotel restaurant was really good...good enough that we ended up eating there several times during our stay. The staff there was wonderful and were more than willing to help and answer our questions. We will be going back to Kaltenbach and will definitely be staying here again!
Travelling from very far fpr our annual Winter sport holiday, we arrived back here at the Hotel Hochzillertal to a very warm welcome! This just such a nice, friendly and unpretentious fily hotel. ..one will have to look far and beyond to find something similar. Location is just unbeatable. .about 200 m away ftom yhe skilifts...and you want to have that!!! The parking at the gondola gets very busy at n high ski-season....the hotel's area is totally quiet! The owner family is completely involved in the day to day running of the hotel and very good restaurant.! Can only recommend the half board option...it is real great value for money with good food! A la carte option is also available f course! Hotel has a lovely wellness area with sauna and solarium, a bar and coffee shop. As Tyrolean herbs are a speciality of this hotel, one can ask for natural herbal pillows....they are great! This modern little hotel fulfills all that we are looking for...and we thank the owners for making our holiday pleasant and stress-free! We will travel again this far for skiing in Tirol at the end of 2014....looking forward to that !…
I stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding in the mountains. Its about a 10 minute walk from the Kaltenbach station. While booking, i requested a room away from the stairs or elevator. Upon check in i had been given a room directly across from both the staircase and elevator. Obviously they completely disregarded my request. The hotel is a lot larger than i expected with two wings of rooms. Other than that the room was big, with an extra sitting room. The bed unfortunately was a little hard. Towels were old and quite small...i felt like i was drying myself with a hand towel. Breakfast is basic. I think this is an area in which they could definitely improve. I guess that this would also be an area that people would come to ski in the winter, and because i ski i checked out the facilities. The chair lift is approximately a 5 minute walk...downhill one way and obviously uphill on the way home. Its not steep but might be a little difficult in boots and with snow and ice on the road. There doesnt seem to be alot of places to eat...a pizza place and a few other small cafes. But you might find it difficult to find somewhere for dinner. The Hotel Hochzillertal has quite a substantial restaurant, so i am thinking they might provide half board. They did offer it to us when we stayed, so its probably the same during winter. This hotel was okay...but could do with a few improvements.…
