Hotel's Favourite
Fabulous holiday and perfect setting, this hotel gave us a brilliant Greek experience. From the minute we were met by Olga we were made to feel nothing but welcome. Our room 244 was perfectly located for both the pool and the restaurant, yes it was dated, but it was clean ( cleaned daily) and large enough for the 2 of us. The food was delicious and varied, it was a refreshing change to have traditional Greek food and not hotdogs or burgers. The entertainment was good fun and the Greek dancers were fantastic. Drinks in plastic cups were not an issue for us, alot safer than glasses. The staff certainly go the extra mile, they left a bottle of pink fizz in our room with a lovely message, which went down a treat. There was an issue with the boiler not working for a couple of days. not ideal, but not the end of the world either. The kind offer of a late check out was not expected and very kind. We asked for recommendations for a nice place to eat in Zia, we took the hotel receptionists advise and it was perfect, Zia is well worth a visit. The beach is the perfect location to watch the sun set . We will definitely come back, thank you for a fabulous week.

We’ve just arrived back from our one week stay at Ammos and have loved our time there! The staff are very helpful and welcoming and upon arrival (1am) provided us with a meal and drinks before taking us to our room. The facilities are great here with a gym with showers, the restaurant, the swimming pool and pool bar as well as the private beach. All of them are great and come with scenic views. Overall the food was great with some things being a tad bland however that can come down to preference. There was little selection which is great for indecisive people like myself but there was plenty provided. Last but definitely not least, the entertainers. They are tremendous at their job and never fail to give you a laugh and also provide a lot of activities during the day and night from karaoke to aqua gym to quizzes to table tennis and darts. Please do get involved with them! All in all a lovely week away so thank you Ammos!

We were unfortunately relocated to Ammos Resort 2 days before our departure as the original hotel we booked wasn't open yet. We were offered a £60 refund by Jet2 as it wasn't an adults only as we had previously booked but the hotel looked OK on the website, so we took it. Little did we know that the photos must be 15 to 20 years old and the hotel is now in a very poor state. The beach was horrible, several rusty parasol.poles with no tops, the beach itself hadn't berm cleaned or even looked at, it seemed, for a very long time. There was security fencing and an old staging area for entertainment. it looked very shoddy and unkempt. The tennis court was useless, no net, the fence had rusted away and the court is full of pot holes. The gardens don't even look the same as they do on line, several trees and bushes have been removed. Jet2 SHOULD NOT be selling holidays here based on their VERY old photos alone. Upon our arrival we were given a cold plate of good as we arrived late. Fair enough, nice gesture, but it was pretty grim, just cold rice and meat. We were then taken to our room.... The main light didn't work, the TV didn't work, we had single beds, we had booked a double room, the shower head had a hole in the top so the water hit the ceiling and sprayed all over the bathroom, and the hair dryer didn't work either! Great start! We eventually got moved to the room next door where only the hair dryer didn't work, comical! Next morning we went to get some breakfast.... One household 2 slice toaster to service the whole hotel... Food.... cold and dry. Lunch.... Food.... cold and dry. We spoke to some other guests who had been told to use a microwave that had been supplied! What a joke! The food should be kept at the right temperature! The lone bar girl, we found out, had been called only a few days before it opened to work in the hotel, she had mo idea what she was doing, or what the drinks were. She had never even worked a bar before! The drinks were always flat and syrupy too, disgusting! And if you wanted a spirit and mixer, you got the spirit at the bar and self served out if a soda machine. No chance of a cocktail! We were away for 2 weeks, the second day we were on to our rep to be moved. This was on Wednesday. She told as that she could move us on Friday to the hotel we had originally booked as it was now opening. Friday became Saturday, Saturday became Sinday, Sunday became Monday.... you get the idea. We were being fobbed off! The last time we spoke to the rep she raised her voice at my wife as if it was our fault, so we hung up on her. We rang the hotel we were supposed to be moving to to see if they knew of our impending arrival..... They had no idea. The rep was playing us to hope we just shut up. When we left we spoke to the manager, who had done her level best to try to keep everyone hapoy, just to say that it was nothing personal etc.. It was then that she told us that the hotel was being demolished next year and that it was bought by a new company last year. It is only open this year to honour last year's bookings for this season. Yet Jet2 are STILL taking bookings! It git worse when we got in the taxi to the new hotel, when the taxi drivers first question was "hotel no good?" He then proceeded to tell us that it had been in the local newspaoer about its troubles and the locals knew all about it. To the point where nobody local wanted to work there because it was being demolished next year. This explains a lot if it's problems. It is VERY apparent that it is being run on a shoestring to get it through its last season. We contacted head office in the UK and eventually got moved to the lovely Summer Village where we had originally booked and had a lovely second week of our stay. However, we were also told that the reps notes had said that we were happy to stay at Ammos on the Saturday. We most definitely were not... There were even lies being told within Jet2 themselves. Jet2 sorted us out a fairly decent compensation package in the end, so all was not bad in the end. We just felt sorry for the poor guests that were there for a week and were also beingvtold that they were moving, right up to the day before they were going home anyway. They must have been gutted! but we know that they were going to complain once they got home. As my title says.... AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Ammo’s Hotel Review I’m not usually one for writing reviews, good or bad, however, I couldn’t not on this occasion. PS. It’s not a good one. After reading the reviews for Ammos & seeing the photos online, we thought that the Ammos hotel would be a great place to get away for a week. We were wrong. We ended up contacting our holiday rep and moving hotels. Upon arrival, we were greeted and then seated in the lobby. They gave us 2 plates of food as it was way past ‘dinner time’ when we arrived - it was some sort of meat, absolutely no idea what kind, it was cold, the couscous was also cold, hard and tasteless. The chard peppers were soggy and tasted as though they’d been soaked in vinegar. We were then taken up to our room. The air con control face fell off upon the concierge turning it on for us, we had no clean towels, the room had definitely not been cleaned before we got there, the shower wasn’t able to be used, the toilet didn’t flush and trickled water all night, there was a light around the mirror that would randomly come on during the night, waking us up. We got moved to another room (which the manager made us feel bad for asking) & thankfully had no issues. We probably would have enjoyed staying at this hotel after this, if it wasn’t for the fact that the food is disgusting. The choice of food is unbelievably poor, made worse by the fact that it’s either overcooked (reheated) and dry, or watery, you don’t really know what you’re eating, and it’s cold!! We complained about the food being cold, and we were told that there should be a microwave available in order to heat the food up! Is that a joke? The food on offer in the evening and the next breakfast was left over from the lunchtime before. You could tell it wasn’t fresh. The place is fairly small and quiet, which could be lovely, however, there’s no evening entertainment, and not a lot around. This meant that we literally ate dinner and went back to our room - again, maybe perfect for some if you can hack the food and lack of choice of drinks (there’s no bar). We checked out early due to moving to another hotel - the manager spoke with us and blamed my ‘situation’ (I’m 7 months pregnant) on the fact I wasn’t happy at this hotel. Pregnant or not, I would not of enjoyed this hotel. It is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel & was not worth the price we paid.

To start with myself and my OH didn’t initially book Ammos, but we were changed last minute due to our chosen hotel not opening on time. We arrived at Ammos at 1am due to a late flight from Manchester, the first impressions of the hotel in the dark were beautiful, lit up just perfectly. Luckily the hotel is about 15 mins away from the airport, so you don’t have to wait long to start your holiday after landing. You do however have aircraft passing over most of the day, which for somebody like my OH was a dream, but you can’t really hear them during the night which is a bonus. Once inside the hotel, we’re were greeted by a member of staff who invited us to eat and drink before being shown to our room. We were allocated a side sea view room, which overlooked the pool also, and again the view at night was beautiful, with the pool all lit up. The views in the morning from our balcony was just amazing, such a beautiful view of the sea & another island. The room was a double, but was effectively 2 single beds which is pretty standard. The bathroom was dated, but spacious and we loved the touch of being able to listen to music whilst showering, great feature! The rooms are made up every day promptly and the maids leave the personal touches with towels and blankets made up in lovely ways. Only issue encountered was a drippy loo, which maintenance fixed right away. The food is simple but lovely, it’s caters for everybody without being overwhelmed with choice. The staff within the restaurant are lovely and are on hand to help with any queries. Between breakfast and lunch the pool bar is open with sandwiches and cakes, as well as ice cream! The two chaps from the entertainment teams are lovely and get everybody in the pool for water gym, on the lawn for games or making sure during rainy spells that there was stuff to do indoors. Ping pong anybody? There is a shop local to the hotel, it’s about a 5/10 min walk along the road outside the hotel & it has everything you need, such as snacks, drinks, gifts and more. Note, this shop does not take card nor have a cash machine. The nearest cash machine is located within the local town. In the mornings there is a chap who comes to the hotel, and you can rent cars through him or book excursions. We rented a car for 2 days after being cooped up in the hotel due to rain, great prices and easy to do, all you need is your driving licence and cash on hand, as there isn’t always a card machine to hand. This is the same for the tourist tax & any room extension payments. There was only one evening that had entertainment and that was a Greek themed evening, with singers and dancers who encourage everyone to get up and join in. Such a lovely evening and would highly recommend going down to the restaurant to watch/join in. There is a track down to the local town via the beach, which we didn’t do but we did experience the local bar next door ‘dolphin bay’ and it’s well worth the 5 min walk next door, even just for a drink the views are beautiful. We went for lunch and it was super yummy, with lovely staff and beautiful cats and dogs lounging around. Overall, considering we didn’t chose Ammos it was a lovely quiet hotel, with lovely staff, pleasant food and stunning location/views. It’s in a prime location for exploring the island via car hire or lounging by the pool. I would happily book in to Ammos resort again if we were to visit Kos again.

We transferred to this hotel as a result of the pandemic and paid extra( big mistake ). It is not 4 star quality . I have no complaints about the staff they are lovely especially Olga the manager ,who gave us late checkout for no extra cost and did their best to help us . The area is lovely and the weather beautiful . Now the bad points food is always cold , soup terrine had no lid , poor selection with the same salad everyday , who wants cold congealed eggs and a two slice toaster for the whole hotel . The boiler broke down hence we only had four hot showers in our two weeks holiday . The public toilets do not get cleaned always out of paper and hand towels I had to take my own tissue (very unhigenic ) strong smell of sewerage . There is never any glasses for beer and wine in the restaurant or they are served hot not good for cold drinks , the juice machine always out of order . Paper cups are ok round the pool in daytime but the only bar open in the evening is pool bar which my partner had to get my drink from in YES a paper cup often in cold windy conditions 10 mins walk away this isn't on !! . The rooms are cleaned every other day that's ok but why are not toilet bins emptied daily as you don't flush toilet paper etc . The walk to the beach is by a steep incline passing old rusty railings when you get there it is a dirty beach with old sunbeds no one ever cleans it up . Passing an old stage falling down which was once used as entertainment . There is so much more I could say but don't want to upset the staff . I don't like complaining but please don't book this hotel you will be disappointed . If anybody from TUI read this when was the last time you sent a rep out to check this hotel out ????? There is no rep visits we don't all have smart phones just how are we to make a complaint , when I did get my complaint in you turned me down as I had no evidence or photos yet other guests have been given compensation so TUI know there are problems no wonder there are no rep visits . Us and Other quests we met renamed it faulty towers and made the best out of a bad situation . Ammos could be a lovely hotel but it needs a lot of improvement and I am so sorry to write this negative review .

Dear Valued Guest Carol P Thank you for the time to upload your personal opinion regarding your stay at our hotel. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Ammos team strives for the best service to all our guests so renaming ''faulty tower" makes us happy because at least we did not have the service of "Manuel" and his manager/owner :) The fact that you did not have a smartphone to make photos does not mean that we are not able to give you an after-sale service. Please send an email to our hotel manager, who you met during your stay, giving us the chance to discuss further with you. Honesty promotes openness, empowers us, and enables us to develop consistency in how we present and support the facts. Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Warm regards, Ammos Team

Arrived at the hotel at around 2am to be greeted by a very friendly night concierge and a cold meats meal. We was shown to our ground floor room and was pleasantly surprised how spacious it was with a large balcony with sea views. We found the bathroom a bit tired but everything worked well so no real complaints with it. After wandering around the hotel and finding our bearings we stopped and ate in the hotel restaurant. We found the food plentiful and varied and they catered for everyone. So don't be put of by some reviews. The hotel beach needed some tlc and could be so much better. But the island has plenty of beaches around. The hotel pool was very nice and regularly cleaned every night and the grounds were very well maintained. Hotel reception staff were fantastic and they helped us with booking rental vehicles and the Greek night in zia. They was always there with a welcoming smile and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend Beautiful surroundings and views. Can't remember all the names of the staff " shame on me" but they really did help to make it an amazing holiday. Will definitely return one day soon. Thank you to all the ammos team.

We wanted a quiet & relaxing holiday & that is just what we had. The hotel itself is lovely & the staff are amazing, Olga the manager goes more than the extra mile to make sure all the guests are happy (thank you Olga for the best sleep!!) Nomiki on reception & Nikos (maintenance) are so helpful. Panos at the pool bar made our holiday so special, all the staff are friendly each one a great asset to the hotel. The food was varied & tasty, the soups were delicious, many varieties we had not had before. The rooms are clean & spacious with plenty of space for clothes. The beach is small ( I was often the only person there) lovely to relax with a book & hear only the waves. Thank you to everyone at Ammos Resort for an unforgettable holiday.
