I had a reservation for CasaVerde Atenas that was confirmed by the hotel. I showed up the evening of my reservation and the hotel staff informed me that they would not provide me a room because they over booked. This was very frustrating! I was not provided another alternative or any help in finding a new place. I had no cell service and left the hotel to go and try to find a new place in the dark during the busy tourist time of year. The hotel manager was not helpful and would not even apologize to me for the inconvenience until I told him multiple times how frustrated I was. Very disappointing that the manager just walked away when I asked for help to find a new place. Bottom line, if you book a stay here, be prepared to be turned down and sent to the street.
The room wasn’t ready at time of arrival, the room had food and personal belongings of a previous customer, when asked for a solution the owner of the hotel was disrespectful. We had to wait a long time for a solution that was NOT provided. The owner never wore a mask and refused to refund the money. Awful experience, would not recommend.
Casa Verde is a lush and green paradise with a lovely pool and two dreamy hammocks to watch the birds drift by. Eric and his family were wonderful hosts and always there when we needed anything. We so appreciated all they did for us during our 5 weeks there and highly recommend time spent there to anyone wanting to enjoy peace and relaxation. Many thanks from Ron and Doreen
First, people were very nice. When we checked in we told them we would go ahead and give them our credit card; we were told no, Alex, who seems to run things, wasn’t there. Entered room, bathroom sink appeared unclean; air fresheners everywhere which made me wonder what things smelled like without them. Soap dish in shower was beyond gross. Only one bedside lamp worked; linens were old and flimsy, no mattress covers, no bedspreads, mismatched bed pillows. Pool was never skimmed, I wouldn’t get in it. The grounds are lush and well maintained, breakfast very good. The room was just not comfortable at all.
This place is off the beaten path. My mom & I stayed here for a week and loved it! The family that runs it is so friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts are excellent and if you choose to purchase them, you won’t be disappointed. The pool area is lovely and the rooms are clean and comfortable!
The property is beautiful. The hosts were great & accomodating. The location is central close to city center of Atenas but far enough for privacy. Good size rooms with full kitchen stand-up shower & a huge flat sceen w/ cable. No A/C & only one fan. The jaccuzzi takes a really long time to heat up but when it does its all worth it. There are 3 cats on the property.
I chose to stay at Casa Verde rather than something close to the airport. I really couldn't be more thrilled with that decision. Not only do I get to avoid traffic this morning but it was not a long drive from the airport. It's also much more quiet than staying close to airport. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and extremely well cared for. My son LOVED the pool and hot tub! Which is also immaculate. The architecture is a site to see all on its own. The decor is wonderful. Everything is perfectly clean and tidy. Our host was very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was tasty as well. I have not a single complaint. And, the photos don't do it justice!
