We wanted a sunny holiday in January to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, and chose Thailand. After lots of research, we selected the island of Koh Samui, and the Samui Palm Beach Resort. A short drive from Samui International Airport, this hotel is set back from a main road and borders Bophut Beach. Our first impressions on arrival at the Hotel were all positive - attractive low-rise buildings, well maintained gardens, with everything looking clean and tidy. Service on arrival outside Reception was first class - we were immediately greeted and led into the cool of the building whilst porters dealt with our luggage. We were led to comfortable couches, and given cool drinks and scented towels from the refrigerator - very welcome after a long plane journey ! Check in was speedy, friendly and professional, accompanied by the smiles and friendliness which we now know Thailand is famous for. We were very pleased with our room. Spacious, with a huge comfortable bed, a wide balcony overlooking a secluded garden, separate dressing area and a really big bathroom, it was impressive. Furniture wise, there was lots of storage space in the room, and comfortable seating in the bedroom and on the balcony. A large closet was built into the dressing area. All the modern conveniences that a lot of us now come to expect were present - tea/coffee making equipment, modern multichannel TV, minibar (with complimentary bottled water) ample electrical outlets, hair dryer, safe (free of charge) in addition to various toiletries ( with a lovely scent of tea ) accessories and fluffy white towels, the Hotel also provided lots of useful items - cotton bath robes, mule slippers, beach towels, flip flops, a beach bag and even umbrellas ! Our bathroom had his and her sinks, a large separate shower area and a full sized bath Housekeeping was carried out daily, to a high standard. Free wifi was available throughout the various buildings and grounds. Everyone who we interacted with was helpful and friendly. A special mention of two wonderful ladies, Noi (Front of House Manager) and Mang, (Manager in Residence). They work hard, always find time for guests, and really try to please ! They really made us feel special. We would also like to thank Mr Omapatt, General Manager, who we met a few times and found to be a real gentleman. Food and drink - we ate in both the Trade Winds Restaurant and the Sea Grille Restaurant in a sister hotel next door. Decor, service and food were very good. Amazing choice of hot and cold food and beverages at breakfast. Menus were varied, with Themed dinners on different days every week - we tried most of them, including a special Chinese New Year Celebration with cocktails, a special menu, music and Dragons (great fun!) - all very good. Staff were so friendly and attentive - we must thank Ex and Krist (Restaurant Management) and Mr Wut, Head Chef - lovely people! Note: When we returned to our room on our Anniversary after a day on the beach, we found a delightful selection of fruits and cakes, floral displays, wine and even scented rose petals in a warm bath - thank you Ying Noi ! For our anniversary, we had a private dinner served under a canopy on the Beach - an incredible multiple course seafood themed menu, served attentively by Pong, a really good waiter. A truly memorable experience. We also spent many relaxing hours at the Beach Bar - tasty juices and smoothies, good coffees, succulent cocktails, special thanks to Pee, May, and Pong for looking after us. Both Hotel pools are pristine, with crystal clear water. One is really long ! Bophut Beach is literally a few steps away from the Beach Bar - soft clean sand, sun loungers and parasols, warm clean water and scenic views. Thank you to Kiat , Mon and Boy of the Entertainment Team for always finding time to talk to us and ensure that we were looked after. There was regular and varied entertainment in the evenings in the Restaurants, including traditional Thai dancing which we really enjoyed. Noi arranged various activities for us - we went to Chaweng a couple of times, using the Hotel Shuttle Service, lots of shops, bars, cafe's and restaurants and a modern shopping mall. We also went to see The Big Buddah, had a lovely excursion visiting a fresh food market ( we saw so many fruits, vegetables, fish and seafood that we had never seen before ! ) and visiting a Buddhist Temple, where we were graciously given time by a senior Monk, who said prayers for us and placed string bracelets on our wrists - I am still wearing mine now ! We must thank Boy , from the Front of House Team. In addition to being a safe and competent driver, he was a really good guide and interpreter. We learned a lot about Thai culture.from him- a lovely man. Noi also arranged a Thai cooking lesson for us - great fun, we learned a lot, and enjoyed the food which we had prepared. Well worth the cost - we had five people including Management looking after us and a a large section of the Trade Winds Restaurant just for us two ! Bophut Village (Fishermans Village) is only a 30 minute stroll from the Hotel, either along the beach or the main road, and has a huge variety of cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs and shops, and a bustling night market. In conclusion - Koh Samui is a beautiful Island, the Samui Palm Beach is a lovely Resort with everything you need, and a team of hardworking people who really do look after you. We felt really sad when we had to say goodbye to staff members who we now regard as friends, We look forward to being able to return ! We recommend this Hotel without any hesitation !

That is a place we had something to do every day! First off all, the hotel just got renovated this year, so everything is brand new and beautiful. They have really big space, 2 swimming pools, one of them is standing right on the beautiful beach with the palm trees. We are travelling with a 4 years old child, and that was a perfect hotel for him - they have children playground, swimming pool and even children activities (our son was involved in doll painting, and it was fun!). Every day we had some activities to do - I went for yoga in the morning, my husband had Thai boxing classes. That’s all was free of charge! You can also book for additional price a Thai cooking class, very enjoyable and fun - we cooked tom yam, pad thai and banana in coconut milk. Such an experience! The restaurant they have served amazing variety for breakfast and you can also have all inclusive food for the whole day like we did, and the the food is very tasty! There are Thai and western options, so if you are a bit tired of Thai food, you can have a burger or pasta ))) The hotel is very close to the Bophut night market and they have a free transfer where and to Chaweng beach as well! We really enjoyed our stay here! It's a cool hotel I want to come back for sure.
