Corboli is an organic family-run farm, on a hill close to the village of San Quirico di Vernio (Prato province), among the chestnut trees and the typical fields of the Bisenzio valley. In our organic farm, we breed Cinta Senese PDO pigs, Quarter Horses and bees. We produce honey, extra virgin olive oil, jams and chestnut flour products. The farm was established around the late 90s, with 6 separate apartments in old tuscan style, swimming pool, farm restaurant, farm shop and tasting rooms. We like local traditions, genuine food and good company.

Corboli offers good basic apartment facilities for a good value. The road entrance is very steep and narrow and so a large vehicle such as a van is very difficult to navigate. The owners are very accommodating. We stayed in the Casa Mina apartment.

We first stayed at Corboli 7 years ago, and loved it. When planning our honeymoon in Italy, we decided to return - and the wonderful hosts at Corboli remembered us! We picked exactly the same villa to stay in, for just 3 nights at the end of our honeymoon. When we arrived Maria Christina gave us big hugs and congratulations, and then showed us around the villa (which had been extended), and left us with freshly baked, still-warm chocolate biscotti and a bottle of the local chianti, available at the farm's "honour shop" (this shop is full of their own produce - fabulous fennel salamis, sauces etc. you take what you want and record it in the little book, then pay at the end of your stay). This "shop" is just off the pool, and features a chilled water machine and empty bottles to fill. They really have thought of everything! The great hosting didn't end there - on our last night we enjoyed coffee and whiskey with them in the courtyard, toasting our marriage. Dinner every night is simple, perfectly prepared food from their own farm. Being early June, we were treated to fried courgette flowers, wonderful salamis, pecorino cheese, and aubergine parmagiana. Dinner is served in the farmhouse, with lots of that local chianti flowing! You do need to let Maria Christina know if you want to eat with them, but I recommend it - it's stunningly good food for only 20 euros pp. You do need a car to access the village below for supplies as Corboli is up an extremely steep hill. There is a local market on Fridays, and the Coop is well-stocked with fresh local produce (be warned it closes from 1230-1630 but then re-opens in the evening). We didn't explore the local area at all, as we found there was plenty to do on the farm - visiting the pigs or the quarterhorses, or relaxing by the pool with Cecile the cat and Lexi the dog. This really is a home away from home, and we won't be leaving it another 7 years before we visit again!

My husband and I stayed at Borgo Corboli for a week, at the beginning of August 2013 and we are pleased to say that our experience there was highly positive. Its location is excellent, particularly for those who wish to have an idyllic vacation away from the city noise, enjoying the beauty of nature. For those interested in sightseeing, Borgo Corboli is also a great option, although in that case it would be highly advisable to arrive by car. For example, Florence is approximately 50 km away, Bologna is aproximately 80 km away, Lucca is also 80 km away, Pisa is 100 km away, etc. Accomodation is cozy and very appealing. Tidiness of the overall farm should be highly commended, as well as very thoughtful organization of all its facilities. We were impressed with the high level of professionalism by the hosts. As for the hosts, we have nothing but positive words for both of them - they were exceptionally kind and forthcoming, patiently answering all our questions. The view is absolutely marvelous and breathtaking. Nearest store (Coop) is about 1,5 km away - it is good to take a car there since the road going to Borgo Corboli is quite steep. It works Monday to Saturday, all day. There are also many agricultural products that you can by at the farm, at reasonable prices. For example, a bottle of tasty red wine is only 3 euros. Water (both natural and with gas) is provided for free, as well as tea, and coffee can be made for 0,50 euros per cup. Lunch can be ordered for a price of 20 euros per person - we had one such lunch, ravioli with pesto Genovese, and it was excellent. The pool (available to all guests) can be used every day between 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. It is approximately 12 meters long and 4 meters wide, with water of comfortable temperature. For those interested in surfing the web, there is one common room where free Wi-FI is available, although the connection tends to be relatively slow. Unfortunately, connection is not available in other parts of the farm. All in all, we are more than glad that we chose Borgo Corboli for our vacation and we highly recomend it.

A beautiful farm, overlooking a fantastic view with amazing hosts! The hosts were amazing from the get go, we arrived rather ruffled and lost at the local train station after not being able to hire a car. We went in to the restaurant opposite and these lovely women who spoke no English whatsoever somehow managed to interpret our signing enough to realise we didn't know where the hell we were or how to get to the farm. When they rang the owner, he came and picked us up, but it didn't stop there, he literally drove us into town and picked us up again for the next four days until we eventually got our car, without him I don't know what we would have done. The location of the farm is beautiful - up a winding steep hill into the mountains but like you really do need a car if you intend to go anywhere. The food was amazing, the first day we asked for a little bit food to keep us going to dinner and we were given a huge basket full of cheese, fruit, bread and wine and it was to this day the best food I've ever eaten. Dinner is with their wonderful family and any other guests that choose to join which makes for a great atmosphere! The apartment we stayed in was a typical Italian farm style - beautiful and very clean. And the pool was so nice to have on those hot days! The horses also add to the atmosphere of a working farm Just fantastic, if I ever visit Italy again I will certainly return!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Corboli for 4 nights, by the end we didn't want to leave! The apartment we stayed in was perfect for the 2 of us and so uniquely decorated. Our hosts couldn't of been friendlier and the food was amazing! I would definately recommend trying out their produce, the chilli infused cheese we had was some of the best cheese we have eaten, and we eat a lot of it! It was so peaceful and relaxing up in the mountains yet close enough for a day trip into florence. We will be back as soon as we get the chance.

Borgo Corboli is idyllic. The picturesque farm overlooks a beautiful village tucked into a green valley. The farm sits on the outskirts of town and beyond is just woods and scattered farms. The family made us feel so welcome and they seemed genuinely pleased to hang out with us over coffee or wine. The food was wonderful and featured their own products as much as possible. The 'apartments' are clean, comfortable, roomy, and picturesque. Ours featured a medieval stone sink and hearth. This place was the highlight of our Italy adventures!
