This place was so good for my zen. So quiet and peaceful. The staff was the nicest, and good local food, the breakfast could be better. We stayed 3 nights, me and my colleagues, ( we are all chefs) just talking, walking and eating. We cleared our minds, and went home with a head full of new ideas for our...

We found this spot was absolute bliss compared to the bustle of the cities of Rome and Florence. It was quiet, with a wonderful pool overlooking the Tuscan hills. We enjoyed the wine-tasting talk onsite. Elisa in reception was very welcoming too. Most nights we ate at the local restaurant a stones throw away from the 17th century lodge where...

We have just returned from 4 nights. Scenery and location is stunning but a bit remote for the evening apart from eating on site or getting a takeaway pizza from main square in Rufina. We trained into Florence from Scopeti which was excellent and drove to Seina and Arezzo. Elisa in reception was so helpful along with great travel trials...

Hi Sue, thank you for your commentary. Going to Florence by train (railway station 5 minutes from our estate) it's a big advantage for our area: no expensive parking, no headache because of Italian driving style, no traffic jam ....... In 30 minutes you arrive down town Florence, comfortably seated on Tuscan cheap train (€ 4,30/person)

After three nights in the crowded [but gorgeous] cities of Pisa and Florence, arriving at Colognole was a total change. Yes, it's not easy to find the first time you drive along from the autostrada, but the initial struggle was compensated for by the glorious views and tranquility of the Agriturismo in the northern olive groves and Rufina vineyards. We...

Thank you Ron, I'll tell Elisa about your compliments. Fish is not present on Il Colognolo regular menù, because it's rare that peolpe looks for fish here on the hills. But if it is requested, the chef Mattia order from Versilia, so that the fish would be fresh and from open see (available at least for the day after). Remember...

We recently spent five nights at Colognole and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the grounds and facility are well kept. The view from Colognole is fantastic! The highlight of our stay was the wine tasting hosted by Mario. In addition to the great wine, I was impressed by Mario's passion for his business....

My two best friends and I have just returned from a wonderful visit to the beautiful Tuscany region in Italy. Our main goals for the four day vacation was relaxation, nice weather, sampling of the local food and wine, and a chance to visit the beautiful city of Florence. The backdrop for these experiences would be the spectacular Colognole vineyard...

Dear Klaus, romantic people recognize each other! I'm glad you enjoied your Tuscan tour through Chiantis, and, belive me, we will remember your stay at Colognole, for your kindness and your passion, and also because you came during a great and wonderful harvesting season. This stunning location and accommodation is the quietest place I have been. If it is peace and rest you are looking for then this is the place for you. Its remote location definitely requires a car so my advise would be to hire one. This will enable you to dine at other locations as the onsite restaurant does not offer...

Dear Sally, thank you for your time and for your commentary. I'm perfectely agree with you, when you suggest to come here by car. As a matter of fact, we always do it when the customer call us directly. We organize a shuttle to and from the airport, or to and from Florence's railway station, but I think that if...

My husband and I stayed 3 nights enjoying the quiet, peaceful surroundings. Our room was impressively expansive with tall ceilings, kitchenette and fridge, old wood, mirrored armoire and large bed. Perfect to get away for the weekend, quiet, relaxing and very nice people. Restaurant had very good food, service was very Tuscan style like "sit down and eat if your hungry". Definitely will return. Oh, must try the wine they make there, thumbs up.

The Agritourism Colognole lies in the hills that rise on the left bank of the river Sieve, some 30 km east of Florence. Set in a spectacular environment, surrounded by amazing colours, is the ideal location both for some relaxing days by the green and the pool, enjoying excellent food, and for nature walks, mountain biking, horse riding, tennis players. All of the buildings on the estate boast panoramic views of the Valdisieve, and our guests may enjoy our English-speaking hospitality staff, make use of the swimming pool, enjoy local dishes in the Restaurant "Il Colognolo" located right in the heart of our winery complex, stroll the hiking trails which cover the estate, as well as arrange for tastings of the docg Wines and Olive Oil produced on the estate.Guests staying at our agriturismo can reach all of Tuscany's important cities within an hour or two. The town of Rufina, just a few kilometres away, offers frequent trains to the city centre of Florence, just 30 minutes away.Colognole's nearness to the Apennine mountain chain makes its landscape quite rugged and wild, but its location also means that the summer heat is more bearable here, thanks to the light breezes that flow down from the mountain heights. ... more   less
